I'm with those with the hot flashes and especially the night sweats. They even seem to change all the time. And aren't even every day anymore.
Had a total H 15 yrs. ago, was on meds for 10 years and then went off them cold turkey.
I tend to have the flashes and sweats when my bladder needs to empty.
Sleep - I'm a night owl who likes to get up early, but do get 5 - 7 hours a night. Would love to be able to sleep less and get more done in a day! LOL
I agree about the full bladder causing the hot flashes ! Never did sleep well. Up knitting or reading at all hours of the night. snacking sometimes. At 73 I don't see it getting better. Don't want to take more pills, 13 or 14 a day is more than enough.

One other thing is sometimes when I wake up I feel like I have trouble breathing and I get scared. I stay up late and read everything on here, go to bed and read and fall asleep with glasses on and head in book, not a pretty sight I'm sure and of course the light is on, I don't know how my husband sleeps with with all this going on.

I have noticed too, that when my bladder is full, I feel flushed. Perhaps this is a reminder to me that I need to do something. Now if I could only remember what I'm being reminded about.
Actually, I like that power surge quote. I think that I will use that on a quilter friend who works at the local power company.
All the best,

What I'd like to know is when is all of this supposed to start. I`m 57 and still have regular periods every month and have only had a couple a little late. My family doctor is no help- told me the average age is 52. When I asked my friend she said if you don`t have night sweats or hot flashes then `honey, you`re not there yet`. I think that I`m old not to be `there` yet. Should I be trying to get a specialist`s appointment which is another problem as we live in a rural area with a huge shortage of family doctors and gynocologists are non-existant.

I want to know about the acne too, mine is worse. Shelbie I'm 42 and just starting. I have an Aunt who is in her late 60's and hasn't started. A lot depends on when your DM started hers from what I have heard.

My mother was still having periods in her mid 60's, which is where I am now. Thank goodness I didn't follow in her footsteps! As for acne, I had it terrible most of my life, but with each baby being born, it improved. Now, after meno, I get an occasional zit. This probably isn't the right place to say this, but I actually looked for to meno because of hating periods, and it hasn't turn out too bad.... for me.

http://www.womentowomen.com
I found this site and the herbal therapy to be very helpful. I had night sweats so bad had to change sheets or freeze to death. Most symptoms I have now are foggy brain and the weight gain, which I am working on and actually losing some weight. I thought the herbals weren't worth the money but i realize now how much better off I am. I wish I could go to the clinic and have a complete physical, etc but the on-line program is working great for me. The great things about menopause- no period, I am not freezing all the time, did I mention no period with heavy, heavy, heavy flow that would bleed thru at the most embarrassing times, don't have to worry about getting pregnant, no more pms.
