I have a friend at church who studied Buddhism for a number of years. She frequently says that different people have auras which she can see (and others can't). She frequently "wades in" when people are in conflict and helps them to settle their differences. She is a fantastic person who has been a great influence on me since she joined our group. Since knowing her, I don't doubt the above.

I am not sure just what I believe, but Watson's ideas come very close to what I think I believe also.

I believe in ghosts. After my dad died he came to visit me at my house in South Carolina, where he'd never been. When he was there I could always smell his Old Spice cologne, he would open & close doors, play ball with my dog, cover my kids up at night and give them a kiss. My daughter was 5 and she would tell me that Grampa gave her a kiss.

My mom was staying with my family for a while after he died and she said that he would snuggle with her while she was napping, my parents loved each other very much. He stayed for about a week and then moved on.

After an operation I was very ill with a high fever, one of the nurses taking care of me said that an older woman with curly hair would sit by my bed late at night and watch over me. I showed them a photo of my mom, one of the nurses recognized her. She had passed away 5 years before.

Ptquilts, It's clear to see what these websites are up to, but I never knew there was a name for it. I boycott Facebook, so I don't know much about how they do things there. Thanks for enlightening me.

I would agree with Jan. Maniacquilter' life stories are fascinating! I love hearing about it.

Carolynjo, My daughter went through a very conflicted time in her life. She reads a lot, and she read many self-help books. Many of them were books related to Buddism. I read some of them too, and I have to say that I was impressed with their principles. It is a very harmonious, kind, leave the world a better place, sort of religion. My daughter has one tatoo--the symbol for mind, body and spirit. I think it's called "the trinity."

purplefiend, I love hearing stories like this. It validates things the things I believe. It also gave me chills. Right before my mother-in-law passed, she began talking to her mother as though she was standing by her bed.

I think these things can be - but I am not aware of experiencing any of them.

The only things that might come close - there are times when it feels like a cat is stomping around on my bed and no cats are on the bed.
