My first quilt was a "fan" quilt.... didn't keep it because I had no idea what I was doing and it fell apart the first time I washed it... didn't quilt again for many years, then starting teaching myself the correct way to make a quilt.... I am pleased to say none of the others have fallen apart with laundry. :P

The pattern I used for my first quilt I made up. It was all pinwheels & with the fabrics I chose you can hardly tell! I called it the 20 year quilt becuase I started in in 1984 & finished it in 2004. I still have it & use it in our camper. It is backed in flannel & with all of those 1/2" seams it is very heavy & warm!

My first quilt was made of blue bandannas with an old flannelette blanket for filling and a sheet for the back all straight machine quilting (made ca. 1970) and used and used until it was rags. No one would have wanted it, honest.

My first quilting projects were 2 Around the World pillows with 1" squares that I hand quilted around each sq,lol I didn't know any better & yes I do still have them My first full size quilt was a red, white & blue 9 patch that my grandson carried off with when he was young. I let him sleep with it when he spent the night & he thought it was his...I didn't have the heart to take it away.

My very first was 100 - 2" squares, ten across and ten down.
This was my collection for the 100th day of school project.
I was a teaching asst. It hangs on my office wall.
Here is a picture of the next real quilt I did. Just found two blocks I liked and then winged it on my own. It still hangs above the headboard of my bed. Still one of my favorites.
