I'm very much a loner too. And I love to quilt. I'm retired but my dh is still working so I spend all day alone. All of my friends are still working. You have an unlimited number of friends here if you choose to stay connected. My advice is - if it's fun for you, continue. It it's not fun for you - then quit. None of us on here is perfect and our quilts reflect that. If you are looking for perfection, in yourself and in your quilts, you won't find it. We are all here to help and encourage you if you want our help.

All my quilts are off a little bit too! I am not aiming for perfection, but don't think you are either. If you enjoy it, keep doing it, if not, quilting may not be your thing! :D

You should keep quilting. I have been at this for 6 years and 2 weeks ago I made a quilt that lined up almost perfectly, that will probably never happen again. LOL!! So don't worry about perfection just the fun and enjoyment that you from it.

I agree with Ditter- if it's not for you, that's okay too! But I hope it is and you stay with us :D:D
My quilts are never, ever perfect but I need to share something here:
I finished a quilt for my son's wedding. I was so sick of looking at it and thought it was awful. Well, after the wedding I looked at it again and I really liked it a lot!
It's not perfect and it was driving me crazy b/c I hand quilted it and b/c of the wedding "it had to be perfect". BS!!! My son and his bride LOOVED it!
That's what matters :D:D

Keep on quilting if it brings you joy. Mine are never perfect, far from it. If I worried about perfection I would do nothing. Just enjoy.

We could be sisters. I've just started attempting to quilt. I have done macrame, cross stitch, decoupage goose eggs, lots of ornaments, etc. Knit, crochet too. Love them all. Just me and DH, but he's an over the road trucker so I'm home alone alot. Still working though so don't create as much as I'd like. Oh and given name is also Margaret, lol. As long as you enjoy what you do, share pics with us and as Mommamac suggested, donate for charity. Kids and those without will surely love and appreciate them.

I never used to be a loner and I was forced to retire 3 years ago at the ripe old age of 55. DH said I didn't have to go back to work. Been working since I was 17. Well, I decided not to go back and have been totally alone everyday for the past 3 years. I am now a loner. I am into many different things and just started quilting this past Nov. I have never sewn a thing in my life. I do my crafts for ME. I give them away as gifts, but I really do it for me. They seem to feed my soul. If I make something and I give it as a gift, if they like it great, if they don't oh well.

I don't strive quite as much for perfection anymore. That is not what matters. I give away my "masterpieces" from the heart!

Even if you decide not to quilt anymore, hang in with us. I have been here since Novemeber and I love the encouragement and positive attitudes.

Blessings.
