I hear you Trisher ! Usually whatever Winnipeg gets, heads our way & 2 days ago we also had temps of -48 & approx. -41 for the following 2 days (temps are with the wind chill). I have never seen so much wind our way & lots of us figure it's due to the fact that the lumber companies are doing so much clear cutting & there are not enough trees left to protect us. I can't wait for warmer weather but I think it's going to be a while yet. My dh & I are obsessive golfers in the summer so we get very itchy for the season to start. Thank goodness I have my quilting or I really would be in the loonie bin !! LOL

We live 45 minutes S.W. of Fort Worth, Texas. Been here 13 years and this is the coldest winter we have had. You name it, wind, snow, and the polar vortex which created an ice storm that lasted for almost a week.Yup.......I am stir crazy!

I know what you mean. I am bored and have cabin fever because the weather has been so bad here in the northeast. But I'm also VERY happy to be retired and not have to go out, and especially not have to drive 300 miles a week to and from work.

I will remember this winter forever! Not only for the weather but for the past four weeks I have been home in a non weight bearing cast, as I have broken my right heel. When it broke it pulled my Achilles tendon from the bone. So here I sit. Two and a half years ago I did the exact same thing to my left foot. This is getting old!

Even those of us who are much farther south are having crazy winter going on. Yes we may intersperse it with spring every few days, but 80 on Saturday and 30 something by noon on Sunday is a sure fire recipe for ending up fighting a cold. Especially when working weekends in an outdoor venue! Thank goodness it's supposed to be mid 50s tomorrow but still 30s at night.

Guess I'm in the minority--I love winter. It's the long stretches of hothot sunny days in the summer that make me crazy.

I'm so tired of being cold. The older I get the worse my body feels it too. I hate when it feels like my bones are cold. I work a job and our little section of the IT dept is 24/7 support so if it looks like I might not be able to make it in the following morning, I have to spend the night at work, if my co-worker doesn't make it in that evening, I have to stay and work until relief shows up. We've had four snows this yr, not dustings, which is a record for us. The last two came after a day of 75 degree weather down to the teens and snow which is crazy. I wouldn't mind it if I could stay home and keep warm and then not have to worry about paying the heating bills that follow but that's not going to happen for a long time. Even though the hospital I work for says if you don't feel you can make it in safely to stay home, I feel guilty because I know that if I don't make it in the person working the night shift can't go home. So it takes alot for me to not go in due to the weather. I just want the 70 to 80 degree weather to come, not over the top hot but I'd take that before the cold.

Yes, I am wishing I could have a couple weeks in Florida or somewhere warm. Several friends are there and I'm jealous. Vermont is very beautiful in the snow, but I figure flowers and beaches are beautiful too. Driveway was so icy a few times we had to slide to the car and drive the 30 feet down to our mailbox and back. I agree it's great not to have to go out at all in bad weather now that I'm retired. Spend a lot of time in my cheetah print fleece jammies that I got for Christmas, and so far I have finished 8 quilts of various sizes and eleven mug rugs, most of which were sent out at Valentine's Day with cookies. Our February guild meeting was cancelled for a storm, but I'm hoping to get to this month's meeting tonight. Will show off what I've been doing, three of which are for kids through charity quilt project. Personally, I hate February. Everything awful that has happened to me, including two surgeries and deaths of both parents were in Feb. So now my motto is, MARCH ON! Sadly, we can't expect really decent weather here for over two months. After snow comes Mud Season and we have a dirt driveway. Sigh.
