Would this make you mad/uncomfortable at work?

I don't know if it's legal in your state. If I was calling into a company, I would be angry and quit doing business with the company if I found out that my call was recorded without my knowledge.

It may be a CA "thing" but when my calls are going to be recorded, there is a message to let me know. When it is a person who tells me that fact (instead of a prerecording), I am generally asked if I am OK with being recorded.

I'm not making or accepting personal calls at work on company time. I'm not doing anything wrong.. it just creeps me out. and I don't think it's fair for the customer who is calling in to be recorded without their knowledge either.

I wpuldn't be happy either. I think in Indiana at least one person involved in the call must know that it is being recorded. And as you said, the calls can only come from this one ad, and on top of that they have you filling out a spread sheet... I think something smells rotten . just my opinion. Maybe call your local wage and hour and see if they can answer the question, is it legal what they are doing ?

In Florida it is illegal to record a person without their consent, a doctor told me that. I think he would know.
I would be mortified if I heard myself being listened to AND recorded without my knowledge. I don't have anything to hide either, but I don't necessarily care for my voice on tapes.
I don't see how they can record the callers like that. If I called a business, and then found out, that I had been recorded and they hadn't let me know, I would report them! That is shocking.

My daughter is working and going to school. On a whim, and a little prodding from hubby, she applied for a job online, and then thought about it, and called the lady and asked her to disregard the application.
She said she would and assured my daughter that it was confidential.
She stands firm on that.
Somehow, my daughters employer found out, and they fired her!
They had brought in a new manager, have lost over 10,000 dollars since, and she is cleaning house. DD is fourth employee out the door, if you count, previous manager, that they did move.
I believe in unions! (and honesty)
