That is what I get for speed reading. It was wonderful and will make it again since I still have those Nilla wafers and I would rather have the crisp even though it is tempting to eat them out of the box. Thanks again.

We had caramel sauce and added a touch on it too. YUM your recipe was great as they say - it is a do over. Thanks for sharing.
I just checked the recipe on page 4 of this thread and it's a short sentence but it's in there. Before adding the crumbles on top, you add the water. Then the crumbles. And then bake. So glad your family loved it. It's a favorite around here! :D

We have lots of apples and pears this year. I bakes 18 pies and put them in the freezer. A few days ago a lady asked me if I ever made an apple, pear crisp? I said no but would like to know how. She said make it the same as an apple crisp.... but use 1/2 apples and 1/2 pears. MAN was that ever good!!!

These are my favorite ones; they are on sale here for almost $3 a pound; one apple almost weighs that. I'm checking other stores; last year I found one other store had them cheaper. At $3 a pound I only buy 1 to satisfy my hunger for them.

Love those Michigan apples!!! We have orchards and orchards of them just a waiting for me to get picking. Kids love to pick apples also and go for the wagon rides in the orchards. It's fall over here, no doubt. My family wouldn't know what store bought applesauce tastes like.
