mine brought fabric back a while ago. They have some really cute prints, but the better quality fabric is almost always more expensive.

You sound like such a lovely person to know, have as a friend and family member, and also have as the person waiting on you in a store. Wish I could get people like you to wait on me! Kudos to you and your kindness and empathy!

I miss those days of cutting fabric and putting the bolts away. I enjoyed doing that in the LQS where I worked. The worst was one time a lady wanted 2.5 inches of about 30 fabrics. That was annoying.. all that cutting and putting away for just a little bit of spending. I never seemed to have trouble knowing where things went. When were were super busy, I would get very annoyed at the shop owners who would just walk by my huge stack and not help put away.

Default 21 bolts of fabric

I recently took a trip to Joannes and picked out 21 bolts of fabric and had them cut 1/3 of a yard from each. There were a lot of people in line. I thought I might get mugged. The cutter was gracious and I offered to put all of the bolts back were I got them from. She said sure. That is just one good way to help everyone in line and keep tempers from flaring. Sometimes the cutters have to have nerves of steel at our local Joannes. They do not have very many employees in the store at one time and the lines can be very long and discouraging. Many times women walk out without their selections because of the time it takes to get through the lines.

Isn't it great that the customers are buying fabric?

My walmart got rid of the fabrics a few years back and went to precut. It was horrible..Enough complaints and now we have our fabric department with a very large selection of fabrics. Each store allows the dept. manager to order, and we are so lucky that our manager here orders good quality fabric. I have stopped in to see the normal clerk that is in the department to say HI even when I need nothing,. It is a joy to shop there..I don't get this good service at Joannes. Although they just hired a very nice young man at my Joannes this past week that is a wealth of sewing information and very cordial too.
