I received my first one last month. I do a prize patrol raffle at my quilt guild every month. I can "sell" the items that I don't want from the box to the prize patrol. Win... win...

Maybe we should each pack a box of four items we're not using worth about $50 and send them to each other!

There's another program like this - it's the Quilter's Stash Box - www.quiltersstashbox.com. Cheaper, too!

I'd rather take that money every month and buy things I really want, rather than take a chance they'll send me stuff I'll never use.

I'd like to know more about how the prize patrol is run. My guild is always looking for new interesting fun things to do.

Friend of mine got in on it. 3 months in a row, same stuff. She signed for 6 months. I have a monthly budget implied on myself and that includes estate and garage sales. What I don't use goes into my little savings account. This past year I've saved $400.00. That takes care of Christmas. Bowing out of the surprise boxes. for one not keen on surprises.

It doesn't sound like that great of a deal to me. The cheapest overall price was $44 per month prepaid, making it $528 for the year. The only thing they guarantee is that the box value will be at least $50. That seems like a huge gamble for getting only $6 back on your return, and how much of that box will be things you already have or don't like?

They showed the contents of each box after it is sent out. None of them have been the same so far. You sure it was the Quilty Box?
Most of the items are things I can't find locally and if I bought them online I'd have to pay shipping for each one. Some item I may not think I would use or like until I try it. For me the price is fair considering the value.

I started a thread on it last year and got some good ideas:

It's self supporting... whatever I collect this month can be spent on prizes for next month.

It's more than I want to spend for stuff that I might not want.
