I use Rowenta. I found out early on to use Wal-marts spring water. It's cheap ad come in gal. size. I have had no problem with spitting water.

I have had both, absolutely hate sunbeam irons. My rowenta has been my best iron so there is no choice in my book

If you are buying it from Costco, you will be paying more for the Rowenta, but probably saving a lot more, as it would be way more expensive purchased else where. If you have problems right after purchasing they will take it back. I would get the Rowenta.

I'm a Rowenta gal as well. IMO it matters GREATLY what water you use. Some R's call for distilled water; some for tap water. Read the instructions. I've had both, used the directed water in both, and have never had a leakage issue. I subscribe to my grandmother's belief that a heavy iron does half the work for you. No hard pressing needed as the heavy iron does that job for you. And yes, always unplug your iron. Never know what gremlins may get near it, knock it over and turn on the switch!

After a call o Rowena, they told me not to leave water in the iron when you are done for the day, could cause the leakage

I love my Rowenta. This is me second one and I will not hesitate to buy another when needed. It is heavy, but I like a heavy iron. I feel like I get better results. I have been ironing for 60 years and have never used anything but tap water. I don't leave the iron sitting with water in it. I empty it when finished and I always unplug when done.

I have had a Low Cost Proctor-Silex steam iron for Years and it works fine.. I was looking at a Rowenta and couldn't justify the Cost.... I remember my Mom used to save Rain Water for her Iron... I use Tap Water, and unplug EVERYTIME when done using it...( its in a Surge Bar too.)

I like my Rowenta. It's my second one and about 15 years old. Bought it at Target. Yes, lots of steam and gets hot enough for me. I like the heft on the Rowenta when I have a difficult spot to tamp down. Just my preference. You'll have to decide, but it sounds like you might enjoy using the Sunbeam more.

I have had the Costco Sunbeam for over 3 years and have never regretted buying it. It works better than any Rowenta iron I have ever owned, and I've had my share of them. And - the price is so right! However, I just replaced my Sunbeam with a Panasonic cordless iron. I am in love with my new cordless iron.
