Did You Know.....Not All Rulers are Created Equal?

Good advice!
Also, take a good look before you buy so that you select one that you can read comfortably. I bought one that had so many lines all thru it (1/8's I think), that I hate using. Wish I had put more thought into that one. I like having small 1/8 marks at the inch lines, but not lines both directions thru the whole ruler. I can't just take a quick glance at it - have to study it before lining up. Thank God for post it notes (I use them to mark my spot).

Good advise, I wish the instructor mentioned this when I took my first quilt class- Between the rulers & the 1/4" - it was frustrating - to try to make the squares come out the right size - glad I know about it now!!

Slight change of topic here - I just looked at your tips and hints page. THANK YOU!!! You have the answer as to why my borders are always so wavy. That's the first time I've ever seen something that really made sense to me.

Thanks for the reminders about rulers. I think that between chnaigng rulers and changing machines my last quilt just wouldn't go together right. After ripping out and starting again four times I threw away everything I has cut out and started new with a new pattern. ONe ruler, one sewingmachine.
