Both Hancocks of Paducah ( www.hancocks-paducah.com ) and The Fat Quarter Shop give discounts when you buy fabric by the bolt. I have 4 bolts of Kona on hand at all times (black, white, snow & natural.)

My sister has discovered this site, and it might work for you. You have to give them your email address before you can see the prices of the fabric, but we have both done that and there hasn't even been one email or ad from them. (I was expecting lots of stuff. Glad I was wrong. Quite often I regret "joining.")
I believe they sell only by the bolt. I haven't bought anything yet, but my sister and I are going to split a bolt or two when we decide what we want. A lot of the fabric is $3. or $4. a yard...

My friend and I bought fabric at JoAnn's yesterday at 50% off. We found that some of the ones that had older manufacture dates(usually on end of bolt info) were of better quality. She bought the good ones that she liked by the bolt.......I am more conservative and still could not pass up some yardage(I needed it sooo bad)!! Also got some rulers with 50% coupon.

Yes... I mainly buy the bolt or whats left on the bolt, especially if its a neutral.. ... I use to buy pieces but i never know what im going to use the fabric for so I wouldn't know how much I would need so it was convenient to just buy the whole bolt....

My LQS closed down so I purchased a bolt of plain red I use for charity quilts, and a bolt each of extra wide muslin in cream and black. I have never used plain backs before but for my last two quilts one I used the extra wide black and this current one I am using the cream. I am on my 2nd or 3rd bolt of the plain red.
