totally agree!

I will never win a ribbon and I will never teach a class but I will work with my precious little granddaughter to learn how to quilt. I will never write a "HOW TO" book but I might write one about the fact that my quilts are stitched with so much love even if they are not perfectly squared. By the way, I am getting better and my family loves my quilts! What else matters? Absolutely nothing to me..quilting keeps me busy and I love it. I hope it will be the same with you.

When I get frustrated, I work on something small that I can actually finish. It boosts my confidence and it's small enough that I haven't invested a fortune ruining it!

I found that just after I finish a quilt I see all my mistakes and that I am very critical about the quilt. However, if I come back to it later (sometime years later!), I have forgotten all this and can actually look at it with new eyes and at times I even feel surprised that I have made such a nice quilt!

So here's to seeing one's quilts with "new eyes"! :-D

Sometimes when I am trying out a new idea I make a practice quilt with left over fabrics, and learn to correct my skills there, before using my "good" fabric. I can see the difference that extra preparation made in my current work. I have been quilting 1 year and am pleased to feel that I am learning by applying new skills with each quilt. It does take that patient dedication to improve and not allow discouragement to creep into your mind.

I have the same problem. I think it's because I get bored with a project and then I start getting sloppy. It's best for me to just lay it aside and come back to it a few days or weeks later.

I know u mean about not being perfect quiltingor anything else
I just enjoy making what I find time to. always try to stay away from the people i know are like that. negative people have no place around me.
I leaving my handiwork to the people I care about then they appreciate it; and remember my husband and me.,

we are all so critical of our own work. If we have one thread out of place we notice it. I am by far not a perfectionist. I just keep cutting, sewing and quilting because I love it. Just enjoy your work, take pictures and you will see how you have improved. If you don't see it and still love it just keep, cutting, sewing and quilting anyway.
