Embroidery Question

On my machine, bernina you must thread the bobbin differently than for normal sewing. You must run the thread through the little eye on the "arm" of the bobbin holder. (the thing that sticks up on the bobbin) if that does not make sense email me off line and I will send you a picture of what I am talking about.

I am a long time embroidery machine user and I have an extra bobbin case especially calibrated to the embroidery bobbin fill thread I use. This is an extra expense, but well worth it in the long run.
Embroidery needle, bobbin fill, stabalizer and correct hooping are all very important for good embroidery results. Keeping your machine very clean in the bobbin case area is also important.
I only ever use good quality sewing, embroidery and bobbin thread and thankfully I am usually kept problem free. ( touch wood).
I would definitely not use clear or metallic thread in my bobbin. Good quality metallic threads work very well with a Metafil, Metallic or top stitch needle.
Free embroidery designs from a good digitizer always stitch well.
Hope this information is of help to you.

Use the same thread in your bobbin as you use on top. And you can always use fabric markers to color in the white that is showing....this is something we did at an embroidery shop I worked at and I use it at home too.

Your bottom thread is probably heavier than your embroidery thread. embroidery thread is usually 40wt. and your poly/cotton is probably a 12wt which is heavier so it is thicker than the top thread. Use a 50wt or 60wt bobbin thread and that will keep it from showing on the top or use same color and weight thread top and bottom.
