I too am so afraid to start counting. When I have a block left over from a quilt, I have the idea to make a table topper or runner or a pillow. If I were to count them, I would surely be convinced that I have lost my mind.

Totes of unquilted quilt tops and bushels of other ufo's. Occasionally I finish one. I'm only 80 so maybe I'd better get cracking!

Odd to see this thread this morning. I hardly slept at all last night---plans for three quilts and a hexie table runner were dancing in my head all night. I woke up today with a clear plan for the runner. The three seasonal embroidery projects are still bouncing around, waiting to be put to paper. Then there are all the other quilt ufo's, plus a cute seasonal pillow I found at the quilt expo last weekend waiting to be completed. Very soon I will have to spend a week just hand sewing the binding on six quilts nearing completion. I find that I quite like having lots of projects out there, so don't worry or fret at all about it.

Wow I am really behind everyone. I have only been quilting for about 2 years. Given away two. I have 2 throw size ones, one ready for quilting and another in progress. I have made 4 hairpin lace afghans, given one away. working on a layette size one but ran out of yarn. It is a 3 ply yarn that I have had for many years and cannot find yarn to match it so looking for white to finish it. I can do hairpin lace while riding in a car or bus. (I go on quite a few bus trips) I also garden and live on an acerage so have lots of outside work that needs attending to.I am in the local garden club and quilt club. I am also looking for a used french horn. I played this in high school and was foolish enough and sold mine. Want to get back to that also. I visit some friends that are home bound also, help with quilts for LWR at my church. so my life is quite full. I enjoy reading all of your great ideas.

I'm not sure I want to know! I did pass on a bunch of UFOs (top done but not sandwiched and quilted) so I might be under 20 but not sure. I usually have several in various stages of completion at any given time.
Right now I'm working on swap projects so they get top priority until they are done. One is complete, one has a single set of blocks done and nebulous ideas for the remaining sets, and the other is still in the "I have the fabric but how am I going to use it" stage. And I'm trying to talk myself out of signing up for another swap!
Plus I have a couple of non quilting sewing projects I need to get busy on too.

Whoops. I plan to make myself bedroom curtains, curtains for my sewing room (I just moved bedroom furniture down to my basement and using that room for my sewing room). curtains for my daughters spare bedroom and tops for her end tables in her family room. believe there are four and they are different sizes. Have a table runner planned for her for Christmas. but not a "Christmas" theme.
Again thanks for all your great advice and ideas.

I would not count as I don't really want to know because I might quit buying fabric and that would not be good! HA!

Ideas galore, UFO too many, especially quilt tops that need to be quilted. I do have to start working on them.

I have 50 UFOs and 11 WIPs... by the end of the year I hope to be down to half of these numbers. My word for 2013 is FINISH. The fall & winter months are my prime quilting time so I'm feeling optimistic! Most of mine are lap size or smaller which makes a big difference in my finishing rate.

edited to add: Ideas? off the charts!! But I have to finish 10 UFOs before I start a new project so those ideas will simmer nicely.

No way I have that many since I have been quilting only about 3 years. But I'm in the middle of finishing all UFOs before I let myself make anything new. Right now I'm stalled by obsessively searching for backing fabric to match a fabric on the front of a small attic windows quilt. Can't find it anywhere and can't make up my mind to go with something else. So, basically, I'm stuck in my tracks for now.

If, when, I finally resolve this issue, I have four more large size quilts -- two queen size and two about double bed size to back and quilt. I'll have the two queen size quilted, I think. For one thing, I made a serious mistake piecing those-- back before I knew better, I bought poly/cotton fabrics (I was driven by color and little else) and then mixed it with 100% cotton. I have no idea how these will quilt. One is a log cabin, which I made deliberately for my bed, the other an around the world, which I really like better (same colors; I bought way too much fabric). I did these when I was a true novice. Have always sewed but quiltingmaking is different, I've discovered! Don't even have backing for those yet so my having all UFOs finished is still pretty far down the road.

No help here, I realize.
