How many of you quilt your own quilts?

I quilt my own as well. I can't afford to have someone work on one for me, but I can understand why people send them out, I have seen some beautiful work.
I used to tie my quilts, then moved onto using my machine which broke this week. Luckily I started hand quilting recently so it gives me an excuse to practice. I think as long as you are enjoying what you are working on, that's the important part anyway.

I quilt my own on my home sewing machine due to budget constraints. I enjoy it & keep trying new things with various projects. I'm saving up for a new sewing machine (not a long arm) with a larger throat so I can quilt an over-sized queen I have waiting for quilting. It's been waiting a very long time.

I quilt my own on my Janome 6500 or Bernina 830 vintage sewing machine. I wished I had a long arm. It gets to be a chore when it is wider then 60 inches or so. I also think it does not look as nice as when it is done on a long arm. This is a cal King 10 foot by 10 foot (120"x120"). Too big really for a home machine.

My LQS offers that as well and it's on my list to do someday. I'm afraid there is so much time between my big quilts that I will never get "good" at it. So far I wrestle even the queen-sized under a standard Bernina throat, but then pay a masseuse to work out the knots in my shoulders!

I quilt my own quilts. I'm always moaning about the cost of materials and I'm not prepared to pay another $250-$500 on top of the $350 (on average) that it took me to make it. I can also claim that it is all mine as well. I get better with each quilt.

I quilt my own on my Janome 6600. The largest I did was 100x100. My shoulders never hurt so much in my life. I am one to jump in and try anything. It may not be perfect, but it is mine. I am pretty good at meandering, swirls, leaves and hearts. If I could just master feathers I would be so happy. LOL!
