A friend is getting rid of almost her entire quilt closet and is selling to me for pennies on the dollar. Fabric, kits, books, 209 patterns and almost 300 yards of fabric. I have no room but too good a deal to pass up and I may pass it on to friends.

Have fun, I think you struck GOLD. I worked at House of Fabric back in the 80s and their discount was so good, I am still trying to use up some of these great calicos.

Sounds like a fun fabric journey. I do love fabric but I am not one to keep a stash so it sounds overwhelming to me, but, not to you, so enjoy! Would love to see pictures too.

How awesome for you Cathy, I'm kinda jealous. I enlarged my stash quite a bit last year when an online quilt store closed but no where near as much as you have. Now you just have to find room for it!

lol, what a sweet gift. What a bonus that you and DSis have similar taste! It is very nice of you to think of some very special quilts for DSis and children. You do make up some quilts very quickly. I am sure you will make short work of this new mother lode. Enjoy your new stash!

I've been working on a project of 34 quilts. I figure about 10 yds for each one. That's 340 yards. And now there's a little wiggle room in my cupboards. Must have 3000+ yards left. Don't tell my husband, he's already making waves. Most was bought before retirement but not all. Question.... What is too much fabric? is it similar to, What is too much fun?
