I'm confused! Janome owners please help!

I have the Janome 7700 and really love it. I've had it over two years - no problems. There is not a machine out there that I would trade it for. Keep looking - hope you find one.
I just came back from a Janome dealership, and I'm more confused than ever. The salesman never shut up, and never answered my questions. I'm looking to upgrade, and I want a Janome that is just the "cat's meow" for sewing and quilting. I am not interested in a combination sewing/embroidery machine. I've had one and I've never once used the embroidery part, ever. I'm not interested in embroidery. I want a machine that can sew and quilt with ease. I thought that was the Horizon 7700P, but what happened to that machine? All I can find are the 7700QPC, and that's sewing and embroidery again. Or do I have the wrong model? There is supposed to be a Janome that is just the best model they've come up with (you know how some models are just better and more durable than others), and I thought I knew what that was, and I've been told I'm all wrong, yada, yada, yada. Is there a Horizon 7700 that is not also an embroidery machine? Knowing what I want, all you experienced Janome owners, what model would you choose and why? I have to make a decision, and right now, my head is spinning!

allbrands.com has the Janome 7700 for $2500.00 - and I think they do price matching if you find it for a lower price.

I have the 6600 and would not give it for anything else! It is a workhorse with a big harp and lots of fancy stitches if I choose to use them. I like you didn't need the embroidery option. Good luck with making a decision.

I have the Janome 6600P and 7700, and both are fantastic quilting machines. I use the 7700 as my primary machine because it is faster, especially when free-motion quilting. Both the 6600 and 7700 are workhorse machines, and other than the annual cleaning and service, I have not had to take them in for repairs. Good luck!

I have the Janome 8900 and love it! I moved up from the Babylock Espire. The Babylock has a better automatic threader but the 8900 has the ability to manually adjust the pressure foot, ability to recalibrate the stitches, has the 11 inch harp, 9 mm wide stitch, a snap off needle plate, 90 posiitions of where you can place your needle compared to only 10 with the Babylock, a better FMQ foot, and a much better walking foot - the Accufeed foot with the snap on feet. I love the Accufeed foot. I have both the single and double width with 4 different snap on feet for just the Accufeed foot. Go with Janome it feels like a much more solidly built machine.

I have 4 Janome machines and would recommend them to anyone. They are made to last. If you were looking at the 7700 you should have a look at the 8200 or 8900 as the have the 11" harp space which is a bonus if you intend to quilt on it. I have the 6600 as well as the 8200 which I bought to put on my Kookaburra quilting frame. (I also have a MC10000 but have ordered the new Horizon 15000 because I do a lot of embroidery.)

Sorry, but 8900 is not an embroidery machine. It is a large throat workhorse. Please go on line and find a dealer who will sell you what you want and NEED.I have owned 4 janomes now and would not change. But yes there are other machines out there. This is a Janome studio and I will not change.
