You are making it as a gift. you know that loves those colors are her favorite. she is gone to love it. You don't have to love it to make at for your BFF. Just think of the look of joy on her face when you give it to her.

I think I'm going to continue on it as planned and see what happens. Figured I've already cut everything and started piecing it... it would be a shame to rip it all out and scrap it.
If when all is said and done I don't think it'll be a good one for my BFF for Christmas, I still have plenty of time to try again

I really like your choice of colors and I like the way you have cut them into smaller squares and rectangles that I am used to seeing in jelly-roll quilts. However, the pieces that have white in them sparkle so nicely that I wonder if adding more white (either on its own or in prints) would help you feel more confident about it.
