I tease my DH too that I'm not so sure he is really hunting but rather tree sitting. He just enjoys the outdoors and watching the woods wake up. I'm fine with that.

My husband is also a hunter. He took some time off around Thanksgiving, but will not be in until dark during the week. I have a 4 days off work starting this Wednesday, and I can't wait to get in that sewing room and get some Christmas projects done   I also believe the deer are a beautiful animal and don't understand how he can shoot one, but he puts up with my quilting all year long :) :) so I put up with gun season for a couple of weeks  As long as I don't have to cook or eat it, I am ok with it also

Venison is on our menu often. Husband has been hunting/fishing since a young man. Now that we are both 'seniors' he only hunts locally so out by 6:00am and back by 10:00am. We have a pact - I don't hunt and he doesn't touch my sewing machine!

I am a Project Linus chapter coordinator and we always have our Fall Make A Blanket Day on the opening day of deer season. The women love it!

I think it must the the young mother's with little kids at home who resent their DH's hunting. They need his help at home with the kids.

Now that both of us are retired, my DH is home a lot more than he used to be--and I miss my time to myself.

My husband doesn't hunt, but he has a job that requires quit a bit of travel. I don't like it so much in the summer because it cuts into our lake time, but in the fall, I love the quiet time so I can get in that sewing room!!

Ditto, mine was gone about a month. Didn't make the bed in all that time. ;-) Finished a couple of UFOs started a new project. What fun. I did miss him though. Happy when he returned.

My husband didn't get to go this year. The brother he shared a lease with backed out on him and he couldn't afford it alone. I told him he would just have to find somewhere else to go for several weekends then so I could quilt in peace and quiet! He didn't, though. He spent the first weekend moping around the house. Second weekend....I left and went to a quilting retreat! I've got to get some things finished, and I know I'd never get them done with him hanging around the house feeling sorry for himself.
