At least you have the heads up that if you ever make a quilt for her it had better be a "real one"...

His mom is very thoughtless to say the least. Your grandson will love his quilt and don't let her make you think otherwise!

As a matter of fact, I have a panel with a dinosaur on it. I intend to make my grandson a quilt just by adding a couple borders. He loves dinosaurs. Tell his mother not to use the quilt. You made something he wanted.

I'm sure he loves his QUILT. Panels are just fine and as you said, it isn't easy to keep them straight.

If it were me, That would be the last quilt I make for her. But then again it wasn't for her so I would make the child more, Just not her.Thats just me. I love using panels. The recipient always loved them!!

I agree, you made it for him. If he love 'mater' he is going to love getting to sleep with it. Mom will just have to get over herself. I love the idea of the world on the back so he can find where Daddy is.

sand344 is right, she probably did not think before she spoke
I am sure she would like a real quilt because your work us beautiful to her and she wanted something special for her Son
I am sure the panel quilt is beautiful and she will change her mind when she sees that her Son loves it so much!!
you can always do a real quilt when he is older

I think it's a great idea....Even if you did the whole quilt from a panel, you could quilt it and make the panel come alive....so all that matters is that your grandson likes it!

I have used panels before. I think they are more work than some quilts.
Besides he will love that his Tomater is on it.
