I would certainly start documenting your issues, dates , time people you have spoken to, responses etc. Start comunicating with Bernina headquarters.
For a top of the line machine .. you are not getting "top of the line" action.

Bernina's are fabulous machines, it sounds like you just got a lemon. It happens. But I too would be returning it. I personally wouldn't allow them to fix it, I would want a brand spanking new one and fight like the dickens to get one if they bulked at doing that. Good luck!

Unfortunately not all Bernina Dealers are as good at getting problems solved as other Dealers. I would insist on the proper repair. I would even go so far as to ask that Dealer to send it in to Chicago to Bernina for repair. No one should have to deal with the probles you are having. The best of luck to you and keep us posted

For such an expensive machine, it should be sewing like magic! Take it back to the dealer and if they will not fix it, then tell them you want it replaced with another new one. The problems and lack of service are simply unacceptable! I would also contact the company if the dealer doesn't want to help you.

I don't know what method of payment you used for your machine but DH and I only purchase mechanical/computerized items with our American Express card for the simple reason that if we have problems with them AE will go to bat for us and believe me they get listened to when we don't. We had an Acer computer that had issues over and over and over. Once the warranty with Acer had expired the warranty with AE kicked in and they issued us a full refund for the computer. Acer wasn't going to do anything about it no matter how much we complained, until AE took over. Ann in TN

I have had my 830 for over a year and have not had a single problem with anthing in regards to the machine. Did you take any classes on the ins and outs of the machine? I found them very helpful in getting to know my machine. One thing I thought of is do you clean out the bobbin area and oil it often?

I've had my 830 for over a year and a half and it's been in the shop 3 times for problems regarding the sensors in the upper and lower bobbin. It's rather the Achilles Heel of the machine. And it sounds like your machine has the same problem. It's a simple fix of replacing the sensors. The threading system in mine was also replaced. I don't know about feet not working as all mine work...that doesn't sound right to me. After the 3 fixes, my machine has been a joy to work with and I'm enjoying it immensely. But, there was a time I had buyers remorse about it. Luckily, my dealer is awesome with great techs and I've bonded to it completely by now. If you're not happy, make sure your dealer knows about the problems and is given the chance to MAKE you happy. The machine is the cream of the crop, and I hope you can get it fixed.
