I work for the USPS and we have a" lost and recovery " . I am not sure if UPS does, but it may be worth a phone call to ask if they have a place where they send opened/broken boxes without the address on it.

I kept calling and being a nuisance and low and behold the package arrived within a few days. They never could tell me where it had been or how they "got it back." keep escalating and keep escalating... remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease... I hope this works out for you. |
Your quilt is beautiful and my heart breaks for you. I hope it turns up.

Do NOT give up. This happened to me with a much less valuable package that was delayed for a month at Christmas. I pushed and pushed to the upper echelon of UPS and low and behold, they found it.
Everytime someone tells you they can't do anything, you ask to speak to THEIR boss, and THEIR boss and up the line. If it isn't found, put the very highest value on it. It will never replace what you have done, I know, but working on it for years and years is worth something!! Make it painful for them!!!!!!!!!!!!" There is a story in the Bible of the widow who went to the judge over and over about her case and finally, he was so exhausted of seeing her that he decided in her favor. Persevere, Persevere!!!!!!!!! After going back and reading a few other posts, I think we should all pray about this for her. A quilter's plea to God that it shows up soon!! You are some of the kindest people I know!!! |

Had this happen on a smaller scale, sent blocks for photography for an article in a magazine. They never have shown up, I had to redo the blocks for the magazine. Keep hounding them, keep going higher and higher on the "boss" chain. Or better yet start at the top and work your way down. Good luck and hope you get your quilt back it is lovely.

I will be praying for her to get her quilt back

Did you check your neighbors??? USP delivered a package of mine to my neighbor...UPS said they dodn't know what happened to it because their driver didn't scan after he made his delivery..a couple of weeks later I was speaking with my neighbor and they said that they received my package but had forgotten about it...
OK! Here it goes! Janet pray to St. Anthony. Roz
I posted earlier to let you know how sorry I am about your plight. I do have to say however, we have had nothing but good luck with UPS. Our driver is great and really knows his route. Maybe living in a metro area makes a difference. ♥
Oh my gosh. Thats so sad. I'd keep bugging them and I pray it gets returned to you
Go to your local TV station. Ask them if they have a person who checks on things like this for viewers.
We have a local TV station that checks out things like this. And most of the time they are able to get help for the person, unless sometimes they have been scammed which is a different situation. Will pray that the quilt will be found and you get it back. |
Geez! I hope you find it soon and all turns out well!
I'l keep an eye out in No. Calif., but I only make a small fraction of the shows. Hey fellow Californias, let's cover the basis!
Put an account of it up on You Tube as well as the social networking places as well. If anyone finds it or sees it it will be very recognisable. Hope the best happens for you and you are able to recover it. Sounds like you need to keep pestering the shipping company to be more concerned. I can only hope it has genuinely gone astray and a decent person will try to track down the owner.

Not that it will get back in time for Paducah, But I am contactinng it Quilters Cache.com for their lost quilt department address

I would not stop at phone calls and emails to UPS. Find out names of the higher ups, thier office address, etc and send them a registered or certified return receipt w/signature required. In your letter be very specific about what happened and what you expect them to do about it--all the while being very nice, not nasty-you catch more flys with honey than with vinegar!
Good luck and I hope you have your beautiful quilt back before you read this! |
Your quilt is so beautiful! I will pray it is found and in time for the show. I just can't be lost. Did the person who sent it to you insure it? Not that it would help. It's a priceless item.

When calling get every ones name -time -date also talk to your local UPS in person see if they have any suggestions as to next steps they were very good and they found the quilt I sent my GS and actually delivered it to him on his birthday at 830pm oh crying helps Hope you find your quilt
I am so sorry to hear this. Your quilt is beautiful. I shall keep you in my prayers that it shall be returned.
How sad.
Someone should be able to help. |
I hate to say this, but, check craigslist. It just might show up there. I am so sorry this happened to you.
Janet, What a lovely quilt. I am so sorry. I am sure your heart is broken. My heart goes out to you.
That hurts me. Can`t imagine how you feel. Beautiful work. Sure praying you will get it back. Could delivery person drop it at wrong address?
Be sure to list it on all the missing quilt websights. The shows often check all entries against the list and I personally have helped 2 get back to their rightful owners.
Oh No, I sure hope you can locate your quilt. That is so sad.
Beautiful ...So sorry

I had 2 checkbooks stolen out of a package my daughter sent me by UPS from Florida to NY. They were stolen BY a UPS employee who just opened the bottom of the box where they were hidden. Then tried to cash a check saying it was a graduation gift from his uncle. The check cashing place was suspicious because the check obviously came from a woman, and he was able to get the drivers license and called the police. I went to the top most person I could find to prosecute him but all they could do was fire him. One checkbook was returned to me, but the other was gone. The account was changed that day.. I'd go to the top...and yes, keep every name and phone number you can. I just went through all the quilts on ebay...not there.
Wow. I'll keep my eyes open. So sorry for your loss and hope for a speedy return. I do believe everybody is looking for you.

I can't imagine your heartbreak. Please keep us posted. |
do you have the tracking numbers on your package from the shipper?? You could then check how it was addressed and then delivered. I had a package I thought was shipped UPS and it was actually shipped by Fedex to the wrong zip code. I was able to locate it once I was able to check the tracking number and address. Check with the shipper and then call customer service again.

oh how terrible. so sorry to hear that. I cant believe UPS cant find it. I hope it does turn up for you.
I sure hope you find your quilt very soon. I am praying for its safe return.
I, too, am so sorry to hear this. Keep us posted.
My heart is broken too...prayers that it is found !
I believe the home office is in Memphis, Tn. Try there.
Oh dear, I am so so sorry that is aweful :(
If UPS has no record of it being scanned in, then I would start with the newspaper in Golden. It may be around there. The driver might remember more if he was put on the spot.
Sew sorry to hear. I can't believe after only 10 days they closed the case.
