I went to Lowes and asked the same question. I had a 24 ft room with new drywall. I received a great deal of help and ended up with an historic yellow. I love it. It is soft and cheery. You need to check out expert help. My sewing furniture is white. So I could use anything. Take your time and enjoy the creative process.

♥♥ Which sewing room? august moon (yellow)
|
I would opt for light beige

My sewing room is my old dining room, and was painted a deep dark blue. To me,it's very serene, calming, and goes with the rest of the house. Since dark colors are supposed to distort colors, I now have an excuse for the quilt I'm planning on making. I'm using a floral print, and using the pick and orange from the flowers in the quilt!

I was going to say pale yellow or gold, too, amazing how many people said yellow...
|
Maybe art gallery grey? Neutral and would showcase any quilts or other art on the walls for inspiration.

My room on the bottom is periwinkle and the top is light tan. I have a chair rail between the bead board and the textured wall. It works fine. The top walls being light keep the colors true and I have two windows, it is an extra bedroom I'm using.

Mine is painted a soft gold. There is a lot of light in the room, which is small. It has 4 windows on 3 sides. I have fabric valances and roll down shades that have bright colors and the gold stands up to it.

I love light lavender

I chose off white and the furniture is white with pink and light sewing machine cabinet. 3 windows with sheer curtains. My sewing room is on the 3rd floor, so I see the sky and 3 maple trees. And of course my comfy stash. I feel very content there. I think you should go with color that makes you feel happy and content.
