Every store, shop, yardsale, or place that offers fabric. I have bought yards of desiner fabric at thrift stores, once at a dollar store in OK on a trip, I bought quality yardage most of it designer signed. Hancock's in No Little Rock is my go to store for quilt fabric. And the larger Walmart stores in AR have yardage of every value, some as much as 12.98 a yd!
Occassionally, I have bought at Hancock's and found Walmart was less expensive on sewing supplies. Their rotary replacement blades are a good buy.

Hey, Nana, yes it's great! But you have some cool shops in Western MA, too. We go all the way to A Notion to Quilt in Shelburne Falls MA, especially for Lennie's great service on Janomes. There is also a new shop in Williamstown, I hear, but haven't been there yet. Waiting for good weather.

We have quite a variety of great shops in the Minneapolis area. The ones I frequent are:
Quilted Treasures in Rogers - lots of Minky, kid's fabrics, batiks
Blue Bamboo in Plymouth - Asian and batiks galore
Twin Cities Quilting in Roseville - wonderful modern fabric collections
Glad Creations Quilt Block in South Minneapolis - good mix of everything, especially solids
Four Seasons Quilts in Maple Grove - lots of traditional and 30's fabrics.

Where should I go for fabric when I visit my daughter in Denver? I want to visit Fabric Depot someday. Even though it's a 2 hour drive, I think of Yoder's in Shipshewana as my local shop.

Creative Cloth Closet in Canon City, Colorado is my favorite. Don't forget to support your favorite LQS. Without your support those stores will be closing. Even if you can only buy a fat quarter or two; they get your business and you get a fabric "fix"

This is one of my favorite shops too. My very favorite is the Quilted Ladybug in Moorhead,MN but sadly the owner is retiring in July so this shop may be closing. Another good one is Quilters Eden in East Grand Forks, MN and Red Pine quilt shop in Detroit Lakes, MN. It seems for our population base we have a real lack of LQS in this area. There are a couple I really like near the Twin Cities but that is a distance and I really do like to shop in person.

I like Beverly's. I buy yardage in-store, and precuts online (they sell Hoffman Bali pops for $30 online and will deliver for free to the store). And there are 2 of them within 10 miles of my home so I can almost always find what I'm looking for if one of them has run out.

As far as a non-chain, "true" LQS goes - my favorite is Quilted Angel in Petaluma, CA. It's a lovely store with a lot of great fabric, nice friendly staff, and I make SURE I go every year on my birthday because they give 20% off on birthdays. Can't beat that! Even the other shoppers there seem nicer than usual, I almost always find someone friendly to chat and trade fabric choice opinions with as we shop.
