A crisis is merely a design opportunity and in your case you're being given many ideas to "solve" your problem. Before I read the responses I immediately thought tying it, too. The other ideas are great too.

I'm really not a fan of tying as it leaves little lumps. Superior Thread has an awesome water soluble thread that you could use to hand baste to stabilize and then machine quilt it. When done with quilting, throw in washer and thread gone. Here's a site that has some easy walking designs.

One really important step I haven't read yet in this thread: keep the fabric sandwich taut while you tie it.. Someone said to baste it, but it needs to be taut to baste also. I have a quilt frame that I would pin it to, but another way would be to clamp it to a table top. Some people lay it on the floor and use duct tape to keep it taut.
Then I would pin it every six inches or so to keep the layers flat with no puckers. Too late for the glue treatment. LOL
I've done very many quilts with wool ties, which get tighter with each washing. They will NEVER come out! And the only issue with the little bumps would be if you were going to walk on your quilt with bare feet. You would feel it.
