Since I have an Amazon Prime account, I'll plug my headphones into my laptop or tablet and go to their videos. Right now I'm watching the PBS Grantchester series while hand quilting.

I like it quiet and peaceful, just hearing the sounds of the neighborhood every once in awhile

i usually have a tv show I've seen a million times, like NCIS or Law & Order, while I long arm--if it's an hour show it helps me keep track of time so that I don't overdo and actually take a break.
When I'm upstairs in sewing room I'll just have quiet, listen to audio books or radio, or just hear the tv from downstairs, usually tuned to Royals baseball or in winter, KU basketball (DH controlling the remote)

TV might be on, but no volume....I Love the sound of my machine. I find rythmatic sounds soothing....odd I guess...Think tire slap on long highway stretches!!

My listening pleasure always Depends on the mood I'm in...sometimes 80's, alternative and often Christian radio. But I also have ITunes Radio so I've even played Disney toons from time to time. : )

During the day I just like to listen to the bird sounds. At night, either audio book or folk songs.

I appreciate the quiet. Quite often I quilt to two 6 year olds playing and harassing each other. So quiet time is good!

If I'm doing something new (pattern, technique, etc.) then it has to be absolutely quiet. Except for the birds singing outside. :-) The rest of the time it might be Pachabel Canon station or Oldies on Pandora. Sometimes I let a TV show that doesn't have to be "watched" (Antiques Roadshow, Pickers, etc.). Depends on what I'm doing.

If I am piecing I usually listen to my audio book (Outlander, right now) or have the tv on a movie I have already seen so I can listen and not have to watch the screen as much. If I am quilting on my long arm I am listening to music or my audiobook. For music I pick something easy to listen to like Michael Buble, Matt Nathanson or something like that. I can't listen to really fast music or dance because I tend to lose my rhythm if I am doing free motion. My hands want to go to the beat of the music and not to the pretty swirls I am trying to keep smooth.
