I'll never make another quilt with a dominant color I don't like! I think it was 6 years ago that I made a (king) challenge quilt that was 40% my least favorite color, followed immediately by a 25th anniversary quilt (to replace a nearly worn out wedding quilt) that was nearly all that same color family. I was so burned-out on the color that I even purged my closet of clothing in that color!

I too don't like basting the sandwich. Really hate it! Most of the other stuff I don't mind too much. Not too crazy about hand sewing the binding down but I recently saw a tutorial on how to make a binding with a flange then machine sewing it on both front and back and I hope to try this next time. Liked the look and the lack of hand sewing. My fingers really get locked up sometimes when I am holding the binding down for hand sewing even when I use clips. Guess I hold it to tightly.

Oh, I hate that, too. And for that reason, I usually don't, choosing instead to backstitch...which doesn't look nearly as good but gets it done. I don't do FMQ, just straight line and curves, using a stitch on my Brother 450Q. I'd like to FMQ but haven't done it enough yet.

1. Dislike basting the quilt sandwich. Now I use Elmer's School Glue and it's a breeze.
2. Dislike cutting. I bought a die cut machine. Love using it.
3. Disliked sending quilt out to LA and being disappointed. Learned to do great Quilt as You Go for a large quilt.
4. Pressing binding in half. Stopped pressing it.

Squaring up the unit in a block--so tedious but so necessary!
cutting--reason I got a GO!
really repetitious quilts--where you make a million blocks alike.
Having any type of machine problems!
cleaning up--so I avoid it!
