MMMMMMMM...... I love fabric. Who doesnt???? Ahhh i buy fabric, never having a pattern in mind n it just sits there, but i do fondle it n dig thru it. When i do have to finish a project I love knowing its there when i need to use it. But that sure doesnt keep me from buying more than i will ever need. MMMM FABRIC !!!!!!

Seems we all have more fabric than we can use right now, but isn't it great fun?! I have bins and bins. One of these days when I retire (if I get to retire) I'll have enough fabric to keep me busy for years!
My husband told me once he appreciates my hobby, because his ex-wife used to buy diamonds and designer clothes and shoes--my fabric doesn't faze him at all!

OH MY I am so glad I am not alone with this addition. I can tell you that I have moved recently and still have not unpacked all of my fabric. I have about 10 boxes of just fabric, size 2x3x2 or so . My husband was helping me find something and went in to the spare room(where i have my fabric) and said we brought more boxes with us of fabric than anything else. LOL and he's right.!! and YES I still buy but i have refrained from buying alot. What I have bought I have used. yea me! haha. I did not realize how much fabric I had till I started packing it all up.!!lol

I told myself I can't buy any more fabric for 3 months. I set a goal for myself to eliminate 1 tub (56 qt.) of fabric before buying more. Lucky for my DD is coming home for Christmas. I took her a machine when we visited last month and the sewing bug has bitten her. I bet I can send her home with that 1 tub of fabric and it won't hurt a bit!

(I have 14 tubs right now and stacks that won't fit in)

I have a room full and still buying more. If I like it and don't know what to do with it I usually buy 3 yards. I like fat quarters but I'd rather buy yardage. It's my daughter's problem after I'm gone to do something with what I don't get sewn. If anyone is into charity quilts, take all the fabric you don't know what to do with and cut in into 9 1/2 blocks. Sew them 8 across and 9 rows down. This makes a very simple, old fashion quilt.
People know that I do a lot of "giveaway quilts" and I get lots of fabric donated so this is what I do with it.

when we moved into our new house my brother-in-law was helping, after he brought in the 10th garbage bag of fabric he told me he is pretty sure there is a one ton limit on acceptable stash and i have gone WAY over my limit, if he ever finds the quilt police he is turning me in,
so, how much do i actually have? well, i've been sewing lots the last couple years, i bet i'm down to only 2 tons
