When my daughter saw my stash she said "Mom!!!, you can open a fabric store."

My reply: "A lot of quilters probably can."

I have a really nice stash. It is all organized and in drawers in a closet.....except the 6 large bins in the back of the closet and the one bin of Christmas fabric that won't fit in the closet and the fabric that is in my sewing cabinet because it won't fit in the closet or the bins and the scraps that are in bags under the table because I don't have a bin to put them in and the fabric that I ordered that hasn't arrived yet. I have lots of fabric and I am not going to buy anymore. Unless, a beautiful fabric calls my name and begs me to come live at my house.

I'm sorry this is off subject, but I have to ask Bebe--because she just got a new one. What is the big deal about the featherweights? Why does everyone seem to want one and why are they so special? Maybe I should add, I am pretty new at this quilting thing.

well for me they are sooo nice to sew on. they do a very good straight stitch!! They are also light weight enough to use as a traveling machine. hence the name featherweight (12ish pounds). that way 1) i don't have to brakedown my main machine and 2) the weight. I also love the Janome 760. it is also lightweight and has a few more stitches.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I've been wondering what the attraction was for a long time. Thanks!
