When I got home I checked a sales receipt from my prior batting purchase and it was $9.99 per yard. Have any of you found a better outlet for batting? Or different brand you are happy with? By the way - it's 118 miles round trip to JoAnn's so I'm not afraid to try on line. Thanks so much for your help.

Being limited with funds, I go to thrift shops and buy light used mattress pads, and flannel sheets for batting. Was in local Joanns yesterday and shocked at batting prices, needed one yard of bright purple fabric for a Medallion quilt. Waited almost 45 minutes at check out. I doubt I will go back anytime soon.

I have found that the coupons are almost never good for anything that I need. I did get to use a coupon awhile ago for 10 yards of W & N, so I'm set for awhile. It seems that whenever they have a good coupon, everything is on sale and you can't use the coupon. Another thing I think is the fabric prices are not so different from the LQS. I would rather pay a little more and get the quality of a LQS.

MaryJo's Cloth store in Gastonia NC has excellent prices and will ship to you. When I lived in NC, my sewing cronies and I would make a pilgrimage about 3 times a year and stock up. She has her private brand of Warm & Natural that is fabulous, and that is what most of us would buy. If you call, you can order anything in the store over the phone if you know what you want.
Normally I use the coupons from Hancock's or Joann's, or only shop when they have 50% off sales on batting. I have gotten good deals on the Fusi-Boo with coupons also.
