cindi, you were just up the road when you were at Fabric Shack! I tried talking my husband into going up today since it was so beautiful but he hates shopping. The Deb Tucker lesson was very interesting and I have two blocks to make before next month's lesson. We spent the day doing some stuff around the house and then I've been doing some cleaning/sorting in the sewing room. Still have more to do though. Then hopefully tomorrow afternoon after church and grocery shopping, I can sew some blocks to catch up with the blocks of the month. And take pictures!

    Cindi, what great blocks!

Here is what I just finished up, they will go in the mail on Monday to their owners.

The lap quilt is for my youngest brother and the runner is for his future wife.

Was very happy with the seams but the picture is a little greener than what it is really.
Right now doing some hand quilting on wall hanging that is my avatar.

Just now ready to get back to sewing. Spent much of the day tracking down my Stripology ruler and rotary cutter blades. We have a forwarding order to FL but I am home in NC. Thought it would be OK, since they said they were shipping UPS, but...UPS handed it off to the USPS. It was located in our slot at the sorting station, with a note "Deliver this after they get home; it might not get to FL until after they leave". They will bring it Monday.

Now to sew--only have 8 days until I have to play bridge for 7 days, 14 hrs a day. Need to finish a wall hanging, two months' of two BOM, quilting and binding a lap quilt, and sashing, joining, sandwiching, quilting and binding a throw. Going to try to use my new rulers. Wish me luck!

cindi, love those car blocks - be sure to post a finished pic !

My shopping day with DD was exhausting but we had a good time and found lots of pretty things for her new bathroom. I made an impulse buy at a home decor/ upcycle shop in town - a chair and ottoman to replace a ratty old recliner in our computer room. It is a lime green floral and just screamed "BUY ME!!!", so I did! LOL
I will post a picture after we pick it up tomorrow.

And also bought a small bundle of vintage calicos on cream backgrounds cause you just can't have too many of those!

That's why I have a featherweight, the sound it makes as it hums along. I found mine at a junk store. it looked like it had spent the last 30 years in a barn. I was just going to clean it up, get it working and then put it on eBay, but I fell in love with the sound it makes when it's humming along, so now it's a permanent member of the herd. I have to admit, I'm easily seduced by sewing machine sounds. I will watch a sewing machine video about a technique I have no interest in if I happen to like the way the sewing machine being used sounds.

Almost done with the re- quilting on the UFO--will get it finished tomorrow. Then will work on finishing the piecing for the other UFO.

Didn't get as much done today as I'd hoped, took my DH to Sonic for lunch as his PT ordered that he have a car outing before Wed when we hope that he'll get his staples out of the knee replacement (we are 45min from doctor's office so this was a "test" run). But I did get 20 strip sets (Strata) done for a Ricky Timms Kool Kaliedascope quilt I'm making. Will try to get the last ones done tomorrow and Monday. LA "doctor" coming Tues--have a weird metal-on-metal type screech (NOT good) although stitches still good.

Have you heard the sound a Singer 66 treadle makes? Just 'tickety, tickety, tickety'... totally hypnotizing. So quiet yet precise... and no motor noise to compete with the mechanical sounds. I just love mine. The bobbin winder on them is like a fine clockwork mechanism.
