Wedding Quilt

I made a wedding ring quilt for DD and SIL. I used the Omnigrid Template that I found at Joann's (use coupon), I changed it up and made the circles one color and the diamonds alternating colors. I will attempt to attach a photo. DD isn't into bright designs which is why I changed the pattern to fit her.

I also recently asked for pattern advice for my son and future DIL. I got some great suggestions and found some patterns I had not seen before. I worried about my skill level and, not knowing a date for a bridal shower, also didn't want to pressed for time. Someone told me of a purple and green split rail pattern their friend had made and I've decided to go that route. Plans are for the quilt to be king size with 9" blocks, six strips per block with two contrasting borders. I think their taste probably leans more toward a contemporary style, so the split rail pattern should work well. All that said, I love the two wedding ring quilts my grandmother made for me over the years and wouldn't trade them for anything!
Congratulations and best of luck on the quilt.

Hi, I made a double wedding ring quilt for my daughter and got the pattern from John Flynn. You strip quilt and then take darts to form the arch and it is very easy to do. Here is the quilt address. Here is the website:

I hope this helps.

Heck, just give it a try. I've only been quilting for 4 years and have fumblefingers big hands. I have a Double Wedding Ring Quilt my Grandmother made back in the 1930's and figured if she could do it so could I. I made one for a friends' cousin's daugeter for her wedding and it turned out great. The satisfaction of completing it and the delight she exhibited upon receiving it made the effor worth while
