My partner is lovngrandma....she is so sweet and loves just about everything that I do. I have not even made a decision on which direction to go yet for a design but I am so excited about this swap.

April I need that one with the blue star like shapes mosiac pieces for my quilt I am making .. that is pretty fabric!

I like the number 1 selection because the fabrics have more texture with the tone on tone designs. depth I guess. I KNEW you would like that package of fabrics Twinriver. HAH called it. could have used those for your quilt. but I didnt I see a few bright quilts in the making here. Today I sew other projects while I wait for the mail to come but I need to figure out a pattern that I want to work with for you Twinriver. any your partial to that are not incredibly hard? like not paper pieced and super star pointed out. ugh to lots of stars. those points ah those points.. lol I know how about 12.5 inch blocks. yeah.. thats creative. bet no one else will get that one lol. course you wont either.
April: so orange is your happy color. tucking that info away for future use. never know when you will need it.

    Brat,
You are welcome to have a piece just let me know what size.
Now I'm debating in my head do I want to use a wow or black for the background. I had originally planned to use just these fabrics but I wonder if my design will get lost. Decisions decisions.

Thanks everyone. My partners favorite colors are green and blue. I worked up two test blocks to see if I should use white as the background or the blue swirls on the green as I had originally planned to. I am more confused now lol I think the white is too stark and I am afraid the blocks will get lost in the ribbon background. I think black may make it too dark and dreary...ugh I hate when I can't make a decision lol Any input is greatly appreciated.

....I like the way the white makes the other colors 'pop' and, you need the contrast. but if you think white is a little too harsh, how about a really light green or yellow? or even a really light gray/blue tone instead of black? maybe the same color as one of the lightest colors in one of your focal fabrics....

So I have Didi for a partner. I am excited. Her colors that she put down first in favorites was yellow/orange. Since I am from Florida that says sunshine to me. I can send her sunshine. I hope she likes the way I interper it for her. I am excited. Her quilt might just be 'to hot to handel'. LOL Now to stock up on my chocolate and get going. Check 1-Material is ordered. Check 2- two ideas running in my head. Step 3- Practice on scrape pieces before I tackle hers. Later, Gaters!!!!!

Hi there Peggy! How are things in St. Cloud? Glad to have you join our quilty circus here! Yep, Miss Elisabrat is in for a unique experience. I just need to get the hang of taking pictures and posting them, then I can tantalize her with hints and teases.

Just sent my two babies back to college today, so now I can fill my quiet days with quilting. So excited to get on with this. Everyone is posting beautiful fabrics! How are we supposed to decide which is our favorite? lol

April I like the idea of a green as the background fabric, I think the white is too stark also. That's just me though

How could you possibly vote on something like that? they are all going to be beautiful and each one different. A bit of ourselves in a full package. Really really fun. I just need my fabric in hand to start.. probably Wed? I hate waiting! I love the sneak preview.

April the white stands out real big total contrast yet the other one plays more water like.. magical forest stuff.. lol.. so guess its all how you feel. close your eyes squint see the color/contrast from 2 feet back. what do you like best? tada get sewing. lol me I will just sit here and kibitz while I wait.

She is very good at kibitzing you know! I know I have seen it first hand! btw is kibitzing a word suitable for scrabble? I love new words to use in scrabble, or in Words with Friends.

I think I may have caught up on all the pages. I did have to send my email address too since I forgot to! I am looking through my patterns to see what can fit in the required spaces. Can't wait to see if I make it!
