I would like one that's big enough for a toddler to use for a nap on the couch. I want to make the quilt in the shape of Sue, not square or rectangle. I figure I'm going to have to trace it out on graph paper though. I've never seen one that big before.

But momma there wants girly girly. sigh. one nephew wants me to make brown browns for his girl and the other wants princess stuff. no inbetweens! I love this monkey it was found on pinterest so I cant tell you who designed it unfortunately. wet noodles. it was titled monkey quilt. sigh.

for the non corned beef believers: try boiling it MINUS the spice package rinse the meat first.. boil for 2.5 to 3 hours low simmer sorry.. and then take it out pat it dry. coat it in mustard. take a mix of brown sugar with 1/4 tsp cloves pat it all over the top put in over 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes til glazed and crunchy looking on top. presto carve it its so different from boiling with the traditional cloves/bayleaves/peppercorns. I love both ways but today they are not loving me. heartburn central. darn it! packed it up to share with my driver. She will love it she doesnt cook and me.. bland bland dinner which will please the punches out the man who hates most foods anyways.

That's a really cute monkey quilt as well. Looks like a good compromise between girly and browns. I thought about doing this monkey again all in the lighter brown and then putting an applique bow on it and some eyelashes. Or I could do the applique version and design a dress to work around with it. Luckily for me I know this one I'm making for is going to be a boy.

So put a crown on the darn monkey, do a big castle block for the center of the 2nd & 3rd row, and do it in pinks and browns. Happy compromise!

Good thing I have a huge stash of scraps to play with!
I got it! And I LOVE it!! It's already in use on my island! I'll post pics later (they are on my phone). I'm making my post office run tomorrow fot this and my secret swap.

i was going to suggest a girly monkey, too. maybe sew some lace like a flange inside a border? pink and brown is considered pretty girly, too! a nice tiara, some pearls, and maybe a blingy little handbag. too cute!!

Tammy I'm so glad you like the topper - I was concerned because you had indicated you aren't a fan of orange and there is a small amount in the print. The print reminds me of a late spring/early summer day.
