Thank you, Bootsy!

Terri, I'm relieved that you are going to call the dr.! And happy birthday to Liam, too. Will pray he gets the help he needs and recovers quickly. Big hugs to him and the family.

Been meaning to ask how Vincent P. is doing, too.

I’m also glad you’re going to the doc. Can’t believe how bad this year’s flu has become. I know most of us think “it’s only the flu” but then we get these reminders about how dangerous it can become.

Liam is a year old already! Happy Birthday to him. I’ll be sending healing thoughts and well wishes for him and hopes for a swift and total recovery. The tyke has certainly had more than his share of troubles.

For those of you who went through the miriacle of little Liam’s birth with me he is here in the cities at Children’s Hospial. After 48 hours of testing he has 2 virus’s, the common cold and a virus similar to RSV. Last winter they had to put him into a medically induced coma to combat the RSV. They were in the cities to see a lung specialist when he got sick. Believe it or not he turned 1 on the 8th.

All F8s are either received or confirmed in transit except for Quilt Addict’s. I’ve sent an email but haven’t rec’d a response. Last activity here shows as January 5. Anyone been in touch with her?

Liam has HMPV and now on a ventilator.

Sewbiz mt BIL’s last Pet Scan showed great improvement over his previous one. But his cancer markers keep going up. They will see what happens after his next chemo session. As my sister said he has already lived over a year longer then expected so each day is a gift.

It has warmed up here we have gone above Zero. 4.5 degrees

I hope QuiltAddict is okay. I'm wondering if this flu has not kicked the props out from under her. Whatever the cause, I'm sending prayers that she's soon back with us.

Sewbiz, your On Ringo Lake is breathtaking! Kassaundra, I need to track yours down. I suspect it is gorgeous, too.

Happy Birthday, Liam! What an amazing journey he has had so far.

Stay healthy everyone, please. I did get the flu shot but the idea of one of those flu varieties mutating into a pneumonia prone variety is kind of awful. Time for me to buy hand sanitizer for work.

It looks like hand quilting my fairy quilt and mardi gras quilt is what I will be doing for the spring. I have recently changed jobs and will be traveling back and forth to New Orleans and Mississippi every week and I do not want to take my sewing machine on so many journeys. Let the hand quilting adventures begin. I want your blocks to be shown off in a quilt this year.... My resolution for the year.

Hugs and New Year's blessings to you and your families. I am looking forward to seeing your creativity in this Boom! -- Juana

Ibex, I saved a little piece of that Mardi Gras fabric, a fleur-de-lis, and it’s in what is for me a giant quilt. (It’s my avatar today.) The quilt is as yet unfinished but that little piece is one of my favorite’s so it’s going in. It’s filled with hundreds of squares from various swaps and scraps, the but final pieced row will only have 2 1/2 inch squares that have particular meaning to me. Lots of my favorite Boom fabrics are in that row, along with pieces of my sons’ dinosaur quilts, a square from my first sewing project, something from my MIL, and some from a good friend. I hope to finish the top right after I work my Boom blocks.

Janice, that avatar quilt is wonderful.... I love scrappy, with so much to look at. When the fabrics have memories, it's even better.

Terri, glad to hear that Vincent is doing pretty well. I agree... every day is a gift. And it sounds like they are taking good care of Liam, too. Hope that virus runs its course soon.

Juana, so good to hear from you! Hope you enjoy your new job. I know you were often unhappy driving the mail truck, so I hope the new job works out much better for you. Glad you will be visiting us this time around. You were the one who talked me into joining the Boom swaps, and I'm so happy you did!

I hope QuiltAddict is ok too. Hope we hear from her soon.

Ibex I remember that fairy quilt. I had so much fun making the fairy on a lily.

Thinking of you and the miracle baby Liam. Wishing for a return to good health for both of you.

Off to to play tennis this morning, then onward to teac the new FallProof class. I got vertigo this past year so i got a taste of what some of my students deal with.
