Now I remember, I forgot...imagine that!?!...sucks getting old. The body went a long time ago, but the memory part is driving me nuts. I write those reminder notes and wonder where I put them, usually find them, but it might be a month later and then wonder why I wrote it....The block turned out great. I love the look of some of the paper pieced ones but I sure get frustrated trying to do it. How's your weather in Scotland this time of the year? Does it get really cold there too? Not bad here today it's 40 degrees right now and they say no snow until next week, we'll see....

I spent a few winters in Northern England (Yorkshire and Cumbria - I *saw* Scotland from the shore of St. Bee's) and despite the fact that I'm used to much colder temps in Chicago, I found that I was far colder there than I've ever been in Chicago!! Mostly because it was always so darn damp ... the cold just seeps into your bones and stays put until about May when the sun finally comes out again!! Add to that the fact that the English just don't heat their homes the way American's do. I'm used to dressing in layers if I plan on being outside, but not when I'm sitting in someone's living room!!

That said ... I thoroughly loved Yorkshire and Cumbria in the winter.

I like your block Jacquie...verrryy clever. I could not come up with a plan of 6x9, only to add strips and that's not a block to me. Nice job!

Thank you Jacquie for the beautiful block that I received today. I love the two fabrics you used along with mine. It's beautiful.

Received a great block from ImMeMother today ... pic below. I love the subtlety of this block!!

Note ... I just noticed that the side HST's look black - they are actually a nice dark brown print.

Finished my LAST block today for TLambing and will try to get to the PO to get it mailed ... if not today then tomorrow.

If there is a prize for the most pieces per block .... 169 pieces

If there is a prize for the least number of additional fabrics used ... zero

    hee hee hee

Teresa ... the block is slightly oversized because it's difficult to plan overall size with what I did. I'm going to leave it oversized and let you trim it down - that way you can center it which ever way you choose and you'll have nice crisp edges.

This swap has been so much fun. I got to try my hand at a lot of different techniques and stretched my creative gene using fabrics that I would not ordinarily have used. Of course I also love receiving blocks from folks - I've been happy with ALL of them so far!!

thank you everyone!! Mostly ... thanks again April for hosting this wonderful swap. Pretty sure I'll do another one at some point in the future.

My plan was to finish my block this holiday weekend but My granddaughter took over my sewing maching! It was the first chance I got to teach her how to sew and quilt and she fell in love. She made a pillow and started a quilt top for her mother's christmas. Love you ladies but Granddaughters do come first. Thanks for being so understanding... Blocks will be a coming....

Sewing that is such a gift to share because she will have it always. It can be years and one day you say hey I want to do that again and realize you CAN do it and who shared the gift with you and well.. you create memories. My daughter whipped up a baby quilt the first day I showed her how to do it. Amazing how FAST they are! I see all those blocks I think its something youth has that I am missing. Speed!

Here are a few of my newest blocks and while I piled everything on the counter to make sure I photographed, I moved them several times. I am unsure if I am posting who sent what right so if I mess it up its because I was keeping things neat (figures right?) I love them and send many thanks for sharing your time on my blocks. I will be doing this next swap.. just ask those who know.. or told me notsure which.. but I am in for another large swap. what the heck, come on you tested the waters jump on in for a big swap. Lots more blocks but oh what you can make with them. Name: boom rubys immemother.jpg

I think those blocks are from Immemother, Mosher and K.Whisper....does this make sense? please stand up and take applause for my lack of addressing your block properly. I did not mean any disrespect I just cant find the papers just one envelope with a scratched note on it from me and I CANT READ MY OWN WRITING> ahhh! so apologies much loved all of them!

I received a beautiful block from immemother, thank you so much! I'll post a pic this weekend.
I still have not received a F8 from you. I believe you sent it out TWICE! I really want to make you a block.
Does anyone have a descent amount of immemother's fabric left over that they would be willing to send me so I can make her a block? It would be greatly appreciated, Just pm me and I will give you my address.

I have only 4 more blocks to create. Those blocks go to ctmhjenn, DoghouseMom, Jaba and TLambing.

Missing blocks from ctmhjenn, immemother, Jacquie, OkDarla, OldCatlady and TLambing. I may have gotten one block I did not record as getting so if you sent one help me get my records corrected.

I am not ready to start on this quilt yet but will be looking forward to get on it after Christmas. I can't wait. Will be looking forward to the next swap too. Phannie
