Down on the Farm: Theme Swap - OMG! SEE PG. 74
#222
I have finished drafting my design, it will be a pieced fence with appliqued sunflower hanging over the fence. Now I have to find the right wood grain fabric for the fence and I'll start cutting pieces. I love all the ideas that have been posted, these block are going to be fantasic. Moosegirl

Im so excited to see what everyone comes up with! I bought my fabric, now I just need to cut the 12.5 blocks and start appliquéing sheep...I am going to do a grand total of 36, hoping that way I will be able to have one of everyone's blocks. We have 30 different blocks as of right now, but I think we will- HOPEFULLY!- have some stragglers come and join us. We've had 3 people drop out for various reasons, which is bound to happen. No biggie.
I am overwhelmed by the amount of sheep I am making... I am HAND SEWING THEM! Ei yi yi!!

Love the frog!
Your idea sounds great moose!
76: That idea sounds too cute! (you also need to pick your theme for the quilting bee.)
BRT: Sorry to hear about the dropouts but it is so nice of them to let you know now instead of at the end.
When you get a chance how about listing the blocks that got dropped so maybe someone else will pick them up?
Other ideas should be posted also. It's been so long since I've been near a farm I can't think of a thing.
36 hand sewn sheep? you are a gluten for punishment! :D
Hint: cut your blocks 12 3/4 or 13" so when you are done all that appliqueing your block won't be short. You can trim them after they are done.
I think I'll stick with my 24 but there's lots of time left.

Love the frog. I just came in from my "pasture". Things are going great, the sheep are getting wooly, flowers are blooming along the fence and my crops in the north forty are coming popping up. My wheat is golden and almost ready to harvest. Having fun and not thinking about the many more i have to visit.

That sounds so nice zennia. The weather there must be perfect!
How about a buffalo? or an orchard? apple trees would be nice.
We could use some more pigs cows, chickens. Anything we only have one person making would be good.
