My dinner & a movie "date night" last night was in the man's office here at the house. We watched Oblivion. That's 2 hours I can't get back. The dinner (Philly Connection cheesesteaks) was good, but the movie not so much. It could have been worse though. He could have made me sit through Southland Tales again. Dusty & I went to the movies twice last weekend, to see Pacific Rim & the new Wolvarine movie. I think that's the most time Dusty's spent with me in a weekend in a very long time.

As soon as this monsooning rain stops- I will check out some patterns. Hard to decide what to do .

As for causing trouble - I am an expert at that- I do like to be silly and have fun- so whoever wants to join me- I will gladly take the help

I am sure as the leaves here start to change, I will have plenty of color choices. We have had a lot more rain this year than last, so am looking forward to more color

He must have missed you Dusty'smomma, count your blessings.
Know what you mean about all the rain sapdoggie, we have had more this summer than ever before. Our apartment building had a whole basement full of water, not from rain, a broken hot water tank. What a mess!! But then this week went to finish a quilt that I had on the long arm and the floor was wet. Lordy, now what??? Sopped, that was from the rain and the horrific hail we got day before yesterday. It is finally drying out and maybe I can put it all back together tomorrow, 1 st time that has happened though. Our garden was beat to a pulp, hope it comes out okay. Still picking about 2 - 3 gallons of raspberries every night but good thing......I found a guy that makes excellent wine and next month I have about 120# heading his way. I'll be doing the happy dance all winter, just drink my dessert.

I have a standing weekly date with a good friend, he is my companion that we enjoy each others company. He is 19 yrs older than me but that is ok. We have been seeing each other for over a year now, and have a good time. We both are watching our weight and what we eat. SO tonight we had grilled red snapper with grilled squash and zuchinni, rice and beans. then went to see Red 2, it was great, very entertaining.

I do. I do. It's a balancing act you know, for both of us. Me trying not to be too needy, even though I get tired of spending so much time alone, and him trying not to be too neglectful with all the demands of his career and his habit of hiding in his office and forgetting how little time he spends with me even when he has the time. Everyone can tell he travels a lot this time of year, but even when he's home there's lots going on too. Thankfully he was finished teaching regular classes when the term ended in May, so that will help some. 2 weeks until he goes to Korea for a week. Another meeting out of state in September (I'm thinking there's 2 in September, but I'm not sure.) Then I think he's home until January when he goes to Denmark to the university he graduated from to serve on the panel doing a review of his old department. What I wouldn't give to be able to retire early and go with him while my body will still let me enjoy travelling.

I cut out all the pieces for the outside of the tissue box holder/trash container for my friend's MIL's walker today. The MIL is in the hospital with broken ribs and collar bone from a fall yesterday, so I thought I'd better get on it. I'll be seeing my friend a week from Tuesday and hope to learn to use the embroidery function on my new machine next Saturday so I can put her name on it before I send it to her. She's such a sweet woman, and loves birds & owls, so I'm making it with this fabric:

Send the rain my way y'all!! So hot and dry here..last year and year before were worst drought years since the dust bowl days. Sure would be nice to even it all out, eh? No flooding or droughts. Ah well, I will just be thankful no tornadoes here this year!

Had to let everyone in on my good deal...went to Joann's yesterday. They had Ott lights on sale and my coupon flyer was burning a hole in my purse! I found a box with the decorator Ott floor and table lamps on sale for 60% off, from $269 to @161. I also picked up a jelly roll pattern box that was marked almost $25, a $9 table runner pattern that I might use for the swap, a new thimble that has the metal tip and the stretchy plastic sleeve that goes over your finger (finally one that will stay!), a couple of spools of thread and a bunch of stuff from the dollar bins to send my grandsons in Oregon. With my 40% off one item (they used the jelly roll pattern book) and my 25% off total purchase, my total was $161 plus tax! So, I paid for the 2 lamps that were on sale, everything else - total just over $50 - I got FREE! Yeh!!!!!!!!!!!!! Should have bought some fabric!!!
