I didn't use any foundation...just took a small piece and started to create blocks making a straight edge to get a nice seam and worked from there! When I thought it big enough, I'd press it nicely and then put my 3 1/2" square on top and when it was big enough, I would trim it, making it as interesting as I could.

Thank you everyone for your very kind words...I'm glad some of you are going to give this a whirl!

Wonderful quilt!!! But what is a "crumb block"? Looks like crazy quilt blocks that I have done before. I just love the brightness of the quilt and the cute PP blocks also.

This is exactly how I felt about your quilt. Love doing crumb blocks and your little motif blocks are a darling addition.

To me, a crumb block is like a crazy quilt block, but without the emblishments. For some reasons, all the old names are being changed. But I think this is a wonderful, descriptive name for all the "crumbs" left over from sewing....

An inspiration indeed. If I only did a couple at a time - with the current scraps - before you know it, I'd have a quilt. Right?!? You've done a beautiful job!

Beautiful quilt! Beautiful craftmanship! You are a creative genius and your quilt is a treasure.

I'd love to visit you for the week-end and we could make crumb blocks from dawn 'til dark -- what fun that would be.
