If you look at my last picture of the 4 boys and 4 girl doll, most recently finished, and focus on the doll on top (second from boy on far left) you will see a doll that found a home today (or in a couple days) A local mother named Priscilla has a 3 year old needing a doll. The childs name is Destiny. They had to get her to San Francsisco as she started having some problems. They are waiting also for a compatible donor to give her a bit of his/her lliver as a transplant, which will one day grow into a full liver for the little one. Her mother hopes to bring her home tomorrow or the next day to wait here with her. The little one is in the UC Davis Hosital in San Francisco, CA. For those of you that pray, she sure needs a good share of that. Her mother will call me and I will get the doll to her. I do not know if I will be allowed a picture of the child or not, but that isn't all that important. I just wanted to update those of you who are keeping track of where the dolls go. I need to get some more girl bodies sewn and stuffed and than dresses, as this is the last causcasian/asian/hispanic one available, and I try to keep a balance to have available. Better get scooting and get that done. Take care and thanks to all of you for all your encouragement. Vickey Stamps

POST SCRIPY: over 1/3 of the doll is finished. Outside dress is a fabric with pink poka dots, I accented it making narrow pink band at waist and larger one at the hem. I will tie with pretty ribbons around her waist. 7 tiny ribbon roses are incorporated into the lace above the hem strip of pink That has some white lace atthe top of strip (Clear as mud? Sorry)

No update on doll for child waiting for transplant of a liver. As far as I know she remains in the hospital in san Francisco waiting. Her name is Destiny. I've made another doll since then, and have finished two outside doll dresses and need 2 nightgowns then will make up the two dolls. They will make dolls number 92 and 93.

Correction on name.....Destiny is spelled Destany. She got her liver transplant, than they found she had a clot in an artery and did surgery for that, and now they think she may have some internal bleeding and they may have to do more surgery. I found her on FACEBOOK under 'saving destany'. Between now and the next 2 weeks someone will pick up her doll and see that she gets it.

6 of my dolls are now enroute to Portland, OR to a Ronald MacDonald house for families with kids who have devestating illness. 1 more (a girl) will go to a local house for battered woman tomorrow (They got a boy doll already two days ago)....that way, while the 'parent' is getting counseling, the little one (s) have something near to relate too, play with, etc. That means all my dolls 91 now have found a home. I have four undergoing birthpains, meaning I still have to sew 4 more dresses, stuff 4 more dolls, dress them and embroider 8 faces. I will then let them rest in our spare bathroom, till we find them a child to love. More updates to follow.

Hopefully the little girl Destany that got the liver transplant is doing better today (She is 3) She ended up having a clot in an artery that was successfully removed and artery is healing well, some liquid build up internally that they are tracking and she had a low grade fever they are monitoring. She is out of ICU at last and I saw a picture where she was laying down and blowing kisses to whomever wanted to grab one. Her doll from me (see the poka dotted one further up) is supposed to reach her by today or tomorrow. I'm hoping it will make her happy.

Thanks for the replies that were so nice. I appreciate your kind words. I'm fixing to go cut out a few nightgowns, to have handy if I need a doll nightgown in a hurry. I can always sew and stuff a doll quickly if my 4 finished girl ones (above) and the boy doll go running off to a new home. I like to have 2 or 3 minimum ready to go, whenever I can. I believe that somewhere out there, a little sick child is dreaming of a doll that is soft and huggable and made just for her. (Some of the little guys too)

    Thanks again.

What a wonderful thing you are doing. You are a very generous and caring person. The doll is terrific. I know some little girl will cherish her.
