It definitely isn't the most beautiful quilt I have ever seen. I'm sorry to have to say but I really don't care for this quilt. I like the pattern, but it is hidden with this particular group of fabrics. I don't think I could have figured a way to put all of those fabs together to look like anything resembling a quilt. You did well. Seems like you must have passed the test. I do hope your friend appreciates all of your time and effort and never puts you through a test like this again.

I think you did a great job on selecting which fabrics would go where. Love the ziggy-zaggy placement in particular. I think you pulled it off.

Wonderful silk purse. Love the pattern, but as far as the fabrics....you said it all!

I agree with your assessment of the combination of fabrics. You did remarkably well with them.

You know, there are/were many famous artists (and I include quilters in this group) whose work was considered "ugly" at the time their work was done. Pick almost any impressionist painter, for instance. You did a admirable job putting the fabric together. Your workmanship seems first rate. I think it took a great deal of imagination and talent to put the colors and patterns together the way you did. Not to mention the amount of work/time it took to create. Why not give it some time and then see what you think?

I think you did an amazing job with those awful fabrics. I don't think I would have come up with any pattern to use!

Even tho the fabric patterns hurt my eyes, I really like the way you managed to put the beast together! You really did rise to the challenge on this one.
