It will be fun picking out "Dad-like" fabrics for the bowties!

Just finished the June row this morning. I like to get it done early in the month so I can move on to other WIPs. I am trying to get some projects in the works to take when I visit my mother. I will have time for handwork but no time on the machine. It went quickly but I must say I am not great with those little corner pieces. I know I need to sew the diagonal more exactly. I guess I need more practice. Good luck with your rows....

I too am a new quilter. I did some sewing when my children were little but now that I am a granny quilting is my new passion. I also look for ways to develop my quilting skills. I have found some great methods and some I am not sure I will ever enjoy. This Board has been a great help to me. Print the patterns and work at your own pace. You can do it!

In May I found that I had problems with the points on my leaves but I decided not to redo and let it go as is....who says the leaves have to be perfect..right.. :-)

Oh my , I love everyone's work so far! I don't know why I am having trouble getting started! Today I did go out and find some material for the bowties, But to be honest I don't know how to make them! lol There doesn't seem to be much direction for them. Maybe I can find some directions under bowtie quilts.

Also, I have not started May!

roseOfsharon, if you go back to February where we did the piecing of the square over the corners of the heart sections, that is the technique we are using again here for the bowties. Once you do that to each of the 4 squares, it's just a matter of sewing them together as shown to get each block. A quick review of Feb. and you'll be ready to make bowties!!
