I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom during the last year and am missing her more and more. The idea of the passage quilt it something new to me. We didn't experience the actual taking of the bodies of my parents because both of them passed away in the hospital. That separation was hard enough. But my MIL and FIL passed in the nursing home and we saw their bodies taken away with those horrible funeral home covers over the guerney. It was the same with my BIL who passed at home. A nice quilt would have been more consoling to the family. Thank you for posting the pictures.

I'm sorry for the passing of your mother. I'm sure you have a lot of fabulous memories. The passage quilt story is something I have never heard before now. Thanks for sharing.

So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. You were lucky to have her for so long. What a precious memory you will have. A friend recently passed away and instead of a casket spray of flowers, her family covered her casket with a quilt that her sister had made for her. It was such a lovely thing to do!

I am so sorry about your Mother. I too sat with my Mom waiting for the funeral home to come for her. She died at home. They tried to make me leave, but I refused and I walked with her to the hearse. I feel your pain. There is only one thing worse than losing your mother, and that is losing a child. Sadly, I have endured both.
The passage quilts are beautiful and an excellent idea.
