That is a really striking quilt, Star!
simple strips, and the red borders just really make it look so "complicated" ... I can see where it would be a good stash buster!
    Don't forget!
If you use those same measurement of strips, which looked to me to be about six inches x 2"?
you can do the pioneer/bunkhouse/french braid

This is the website that dglvr was trying to show us. I have been tempted to try this, but so far have resisted. :P

Hey I posted a website on the SS site but incase you didn't get it its a great way to use scraps and make beautifal Christmas presents.
Its a no sew project too. You just push fabric in a board after drawing
the design. I'll post it here too. You go into Captured Colors / Quilt Magic
and shows all the patterns and the board to use. I had a problem gettting into it so if you want to call her for a brouchure her name is Elise and her number is (909) 584-9897 I did scan part of the brouchure but I had a problem downloading but I can try again
Have a day and have fun with those scraps.

Oh, Amma and Leota, you are both SOOOO encouraging!
Thank you, and the red fabric with the ants is DEFINITELY going to hold this quilt together ... actually, this isn't my quilt <g> it is going to go to a veterans' hospital, clinic, or transitional housing ... nothing is ever mine <g> And, I can't think of anything that needs more cheering up than a house that isn't a home.
Thank you so much for your encouragement and support. :P :P

I'll put a few pieces together with the red ant fabric, and we shall see what y'all think.
Who knows? I might even have to change my mind, but, I doubt it!

    update:
I had the opportunity to talk to a veteran who is dealing with PTSD ... and, it got me to thinking about what I was going to do with this scrappy quilt, since I know that a veteran is going to be receiving it ... and, the veteran will probably be from our current war on terror ...
I cut up some of the ant fabric this morning, and then I told hubby ... I can't do it!
I have the privilege of finding a bug on a piece of fabric "entertaining" and interesting, but I don't know that a current military warrior would find them so fun to be laying under ... so!
I started scrambling through my boxes ... and, I didn't find the red that I had intended, but I did find this one and wanted to share it with you.
I put the ant fabric on top, so that you could see the difference in red, and I did audition the fabric against the green to see what would happen ... Lacelady was correct all those weeks ago when she said the ants looked pinky ... well, they are an orangey, pinky red ... and, I don't know that the picture will do the fabric justice, but I will tell you that when I put it next to one of my green strips ... it REALLY popped! ... so, I do believe we are going to like this one! Also, I cut the strips at two inches wide, since I know that I will probably be doing a bit of trimming, and if I want to do the trimming and make it worth my while <g> (translated, having scraps to make the next scrap quilt!) I hope to have a goodly amount of this quilt done by this afternoon.
    Ta DAH!
