That flower garden is lovely Jan. I can't imagine why you would think it an ugly quilt. You probably have more work in that quilt than most of us put in 3 or 4 quilts. I never heard of quilting one that way but it sure is pretty. One of my favorites is the flower garden and love the colors.

Okay girls and guys, some of you need to put your glasses on. There is no doubt that the quilt I posted @ (#4) is UGLY, except to a four year old race car lover. The backing on that quilt is a huge black and white checker like a race flag.

UUUUUUUUGGGLLYY but loved.
peace

All the others so far are rather nice. I think the emotion that tags along with a quilt has something to do with how ugly we think it is.

My first quilt really was ugly-1/2" seams, all cutting done by scissors & no matching points or accuracy. I made up the pattern my self & it made no sense..but, I love it! It is warm & cuddly & lives in my camper now & has kept me warm on many a night!

When I was turning 50 my mom sent out secret letters saying to send me something 'ugly' to celebrate! I began to receive some interesting items! From some quilting friends I got some fabric they considered ugly and were waiting to see what I would do with them. 12 years later this is what I did with them!

Okay, I'll be brave. The first quilt is a product of my very first quilt class and I have no idea what I was thinking when I used neon lime green binding next to the soft rose pink next to dark emerald green. The next one is another UFO in my closet - thought I would do an Irish Chain, but again my fabric choices are not the best: a really dark sage green with a pale pink polyester floral. My sense of color has not improved over the years, so I rely on photos of other people's quilts for guidance.

Default Ugliest Quilt

made for my piano teacher. A guy sitting under a tree whistling. The music was supposed to come out of the piano, but doesn't look like it.

Seeing everyone's quilts is a reminder that we are often our own worst critiques. We all have our own "what was I thinking?" quilts.

Ugly, I don't think so, at least not so far. Maybe not exactly my taste in colours etc. but surely not ugly. JanRN, that quilt is definitely not ugly. Great job.
