I stopped at 2 LQS today. I walked out of one with only 1 FQ. At the other shop I was hoping the kit was in for the class I am teaching. Jaybird quilts - Gravity Quilt. Still not in. I bought another FQ and 1 1/2 yards of a blender I needed. I am making a zoo animal baby quilt and a twin sized monster quilt. Totally from my stash except for the 2 FQ. I will piece the back when I get that far.
My guild had an auction of all the fabric each of us no longer needs. It was a fundraiser for a donation quilt we are making. We made a lot more money than we need for it and are trying to decide how to spend the rest. Possibly a speaker? I only purchased a bag of trim for curtains my daughter wants. I got 10 yards of pom poms for 50 cents.

Fun to read about everyone's projects. Seems to me no one is buying stash but just in order to finish projects. Congrats everyone! No purchases to report, just taking it one day at a time.

Wow way to go! While I'm doing much better once I realized it, I found I was purchasing other things just not fabric. Really didn't need most of it. Pretty much the idea for me is to purchase only what I need currently whether it's thread, needles, etc.
Kristakz - I really like the tone on tone scrappy in the background for any quilt. Way to go in checking stash first.

I went to the LQS and bought all the FQs I need for the swap and not one scrap of fabric more. I did pick me up a magnetic pin holder which I had been meaning to do for a while.

My quilt retreat is this weekend. Hopefully I can resist the fabric there. Someone brings a bunch of hand dyed fabric. Also someone in my guild owns a shop so they bring a bunch of fabric and supplies that people tend to forget. I bought some blender fabric last year, I haven't used it yet but I am pretty sure it will work in my next project.
Piecing my backs from my stash has been a good way to use it up. It also keeps my out of the LQS where I am always tempted to buy extras.

Way behind and cathcing up on everyone's rides and not rides on the wagon. Really loved the Wagga quilt for the dog in the back seat. (I do need to remember to list the post #) and for those of you who bought...at least you got some good stuff and many of you used it or will. Those of us who are still staying strong sometimes find it very difficult so kudos to all of you. I am still playing a little in the scrap bins so that is good incentive to not buy. Loved all the latest posts and everyone, please share with us your purchases..will help ease the 'no buying' pains.

OK, I'm claiming my 'birthday month' exemption. Quilting buddy was over yesterday. She needed help resizing a pattern & determining yardage, then picked out fabric from connecting threads. Her order came to $48. As always I jumped in and found something to bring it up to the free shipping amount of $50. OK, I added twenty bucks worth...
Just got my Birthday coupon from the LQS. Free FQ plus 20% entire purchase included marked down stuff. Crumb. Going there to a club meeting on Thursday. Hope I can be strong!

I'm not even sure how to ask this question.

I'm doing the 2015 BOM here and loving it. It will come out 36x48 and I need 36x66 for my window. I'd like to sash to give each block it's own space. How do I pull this off? And how much material would I need for the sashing. And would all the sashing need to be the same material?

I feel so stupid.

Little confused by your ? tkhooper. Do you want to increase the size of 36x48 to make it longer for a window covering 36x66. Sashing advice would be to keep them the same colors, not necessarily same fabrics, i.e. use some cream scraps for the sashing.

I used the red fabric bought in January. I started with this. The 9P's were all made from 1" wide scraps as trimmings from larger cuts or backings. I found an antique quilt online as inspiration....648 9P's later
