Well, are you planning to buy stuff at the shop hop or just hop for the sake of hopping? lol
If it were me and I'd really want to to go, I'd set myself some guidelines to follow. For example, I would pick a color/type that I have little of, or blenders/neutrals. Or, I would decide on some gadgets or supplies that I want to get. That way I would have a plan going in and I would (hopefully) be able to handle the impulse shopping. Now the odds are that I would still pick up something not on the list BUT I know that I would have a good time AND I would be able to come to this thread with my head held high.

You've done sooo good! Wish I could say the same.
went to Texas this last February & found a store in Fredricksburg w/ awesome fabrics. I came out w/ 8 yds of Robert Kaufmans "All that jazz" fabric. In my defense I didn't have any musical fabrics. Also bought their Urban zoologies fabric at Craftsy when it was 50% off. Just enough for 2 kids quilts & I promise to use stash for the backings!!

Haven't checked in a couple of days. Everyone seems to be doing really well! This is the end of my birthday month and I'm going down in flames, but April is coming soon!!!! My cousin wanted me to go to this fabulous quilting place next week, but I said 'no'. I cried a bit, but am going to stick to my guns.

It is actually a good feeling when you have completed something from your stash. Keep at it ladies and before long you will a dent in that stash.

I have been doing really well not buying fabric. I bought 1/4 yard of orange fabric on Saturday. I didn't have any orange for a binding. Wednesday I am meetign a friend for lunch and we are going on our own shop hop.SHe has never been to most of the LQS. Hope I can behave myself.

Here I am again...finally getting a chance to get caught up. Connie...love your donation quilt (post #406) with the offset diamond. Happylab, you said, "Curious, if we go on a shop hop, does that go against the rules here?". We don't have any hard and fast rules here. I think Martina advised you to go and enjoy yourself and stick to one colorway and just purchase for that direction. I enjoyed my visit with 3 of my guild ladies to the quilt show in Blackfoot, Idaho last week. Saw lots of gorgeous quilts and only purchased one queen size batting (made of bamboo). It is supposed to wash up and always be soft so I am anxious to try it out. Ha! Will be another month before I have backing done for quilt ufo I am working on now.

Wow everybody's really doing so good. I've realized that sometimes this isn't easy. It sure has helped with determining fabric purchases though. Thankfully I'm back on the wagon.

Martina I hope you had some fun with your purchases and just being in a quilt store. Minus the sticker shock. Beautiful fabrics but prices can leave you breathless too

SandyinZ4 - a quilt show sounds like fun and way to stay strong on no fabric purchases.

Pamesue - the amount of using your stash is inspiring.

As for me the last few days of the LQS going out of business sale is here but I have not went nor will I. I keep reminding myself I'm a quilter not a fabric collector. Plus seeing the store nearly empty is just a little too sad. Here is a baby quilt I made for family friends. All but one of the fabrics was from stash - the one was from off the wagon spree.
