Laurie, that's a good report indeed. I love reading good news. Hope DH's count stays high.

Thank you. He's really had it so much easier than most with cancer, but it's been a long winter anyway.

Mitch's Gram What wonderful news for you and DH and your family. Would love to see photos of wall hanging too. Yes, yes I'm a gawker. Love looking at quilt photos almost as much as making them.

Hahahahaha, when you go to the guild meeting and the guest speaker has books to sell, what the heck, right? Can't buy fabric - might as well buy the books (and a seam roller).

I've finished quilting my first bed-sized quilt. I should be able to have the binding done tomorrow. It's a super simple cheater quilt with crosshatching in the middle and a meander on the border. I've been "quilting" for a year and just wanted to complete a real bed-sized project to practice basting something that big and putting it through my machine. Now I'm getting a greater appreciation for what goes into making a quilt vs just accumulating more and more fabric for more projects.
I did take advantage of the Connecting Threads sale on thread today. At $1.67 a spool, you just can't beat it. And I've got to put all those projects together with something, don't I? Got some little sample packs of their quilter's candy line, too, just to try them out and have a color card of sorts.

I'm sorry I missed the sale on thread but I found plenty to get myself in trouble with. I purchased 3 charm packs and the backing for the quilt I want to make with them. I was doing good till that point but then purchased two other fabrics for a total of 4 1/2 yards I just couldn't resist. In my own defense, however, you should have seen my cart before I gave myself a strong talking to. So I fell but climbing right back on the wagon.

Everyone is doing so well! I did buy 1 yard of green to finish up a project and I've been deleting the Connecting Threads emails this week, although that large percentage off the wide backings did give me pause!

Success continues in the group. You rock! I have had a lot of work stress again and almost succumbed to the retail therapy - ALMOST. But then I gave myself a talking to also. Instead I went to guild meeting and picked up some precut packets for community service. That gives me new fabric to sew with AND it all goes back to the guild when done. A win-win. I also committed to sewing some pillow cases to help a friend with her community project. That takes almost a yard per and I have some kid prints I'll probably never use.

excellent progress everyone. I got out of the lqs without buying any fabric but only because tomorrow is 20% off day 30% if it is the end of the bolt.

Yikes! Today my LQS has fat quarters - buy one - get one free! I have to go there because I'm doing a Blockbuster's "class" and I have to pick up my pattern and fabric. Hmmmmmmm......maybe I will tape my purse shut.....or better yet......maybe I'll baste my purse shut ! ! ! ! Have a good weekend everyone!
