Glad backing doesn't count, that was $150.00. I did buy 2 yards of red fabric to put on a QOV throw quilt. I assume that doesn't count either, if it goes to finish a quilt. If that is the case I'm doing good this month. No fabric purchases which counts as me going off the wagon. Yea. I have been using up fabric in my stash to make my projects recently. Pic will come when I finish quilting my projects. Happy sewing everyone and stash browsing.

I have to go get a prescription filled after work today and I am trying a new pharmacy. It is only a few miles from an LQS. It would be rude not to stop by, right? Never been to that store so I am keeping my options open. I do need 3 FQs in specific patterns to send off. I might be safe.

As for the drawing class: Last night we worked in "negative space" - It means that I draw the "nothing space" around the outline of an object. When done, the empty space represents the actual object. A bit challenging but interesting.

My quilty cousin, who lives 100 miles from me, came to visit for 2 days. She wanted to go to my LQS. So we did. Twice. And I bought something each day. I also long arm her tops and she pays me with fabric. My cousin is a bad influence.

Went to our 20% off sale and got the blue-purple and yellow-green I needed for Grandma's Flower Garden. came home and was cutting and sorting and realized I have the blue-purple and the red-purple fabrics but forgot the purple fabrics. Will I ever get them all for this quilt?

I need to stop going to thrift stores. I just got 6 yards of a tea stain with tiny turkey red hearts. LQS brand fabric. $3.75. Sigh.

turning green here. It sounds like great fabric. I can understand why you couldn't pass it up. Any chance at that price you could donate it to a group that does charity quilts?

I took a giant leap off the moratorium wagon this week.....OOPS! I thought I was so clever.......I made another string quilt and with the left-over fabric, I figured I'd sew the strips and then cut into 12" squares to see how many I got. Well, I got 8 of them.....so decided I needed to make a Project Linus quilt with them and of course my stash just wouldn't do.

So, off to Joann Fabrics -- sale on flannel 60% and I needed 4 yards for 1 previously made string quilt, 4 yards for the second string quilt and probably 4 yards + 2 yards for the Project Linus quilt. Stopped at my LQS and purchased 4 yards, ran into JoAnn's and purchased 6 yards total...........So, 14 yards in 2 days........OOPS!

And, I was just trying to make gifts and cut down my stash! ! ! Now, I realize I'm on a hamster wheel and there is no such thing as "cutting down my stash" by making quilts....you always need that little piece to make it "pop", or you need fabric for border, binding, backing (the 3 B's)!

So, hmmmmmmmmmmm......I've gotta rethink my logic!

buying fabric to complete a project is ok, it doesn't count against the moratorium. That is unless you bought more than you needed.
